In the "Colonist" case, an epic sub-quest involving saving Mindoir from pulling another "Hometown Burns to the Ground" redux. With a satisfying emotional connection to it, due to being a Mindoir native.

That would be awesome. Sort of a 'shit just got real' moment.

Well, it would be kinda tragic if your spacer mum died when you see her ship explode

That would be... emotional. Also how about seeing Mindoir burn to the ground (again) if you fail that said sub-quest?

That would be dope! Honestly, every origin has a proper side quest material here which shows the drama of the situiation and how bad ass and evil the Reapers can be.

I actually prefer to have very little detail on this stuff, so that we can fill in the gap for ourselves and do a little role-playing. Also, Shepard's 6 origins make a nice set-up for fanfiction, eh?
I believe Earth-born Shep has a line in the first game (in response to a question by Kaiden), "If they wanted to know me, they would have looked me up after that mess a few years back" (Kaiden then asks about the Blitz / Torfan / the... place with the thresher maws.)
So this seems to imply that Earthborn Shepard knows as little as we do about her parents.

I hope in Mass Effect 4 they'll spice this kind of stuff up a little. I'm still waiting for the Space Cowboy, Android, and Raised by Varren origins. ;D

Reminds me of Wing Commander: Privateer 1. Where the main protagonist is a smuggler living in the outskirts of the galaxy, doing shady shit.
Seriously, We need a ME game that is equivalent to Privateer 1 in terms of the setting.

Maybe also a lot of voice actors? Hell I know a perfect combo of actors for the job!

Dude, Smuggler? Han solo style baby, with a Krogan Co-pilot ;D As long as the Krogan is reaonably as awesome as Wrex. Exalt for this idea, Gorvar. Side note: I'm considering a similar idea for Ian in my story.

Always have a Krogan partner dude. Sort of like a Wookie life debt, except he needs to kill something every day or two.
