I'm sure he's never mentioned, you know. Do you remember where?

I'm sure he's never mentioned, you know. Do you remember where? There was a shot of him and IH Bilbo outside Bag End at the very start that could be new footage.

My thoughts
Oakenshield reminds me of Aragorn
Gandalf and Galadriel...uurrrgh....interesting
The White Council plus the Mirkwood elves have a scene as well where they fight the Necromancer/Sauron?
Hopes John Rhys Davis has a cameo to in the film somewhere since we did see him during an exclusive behind the scene look where he talks to the 13 dwarves.
OMG why the hell do i have to wait another year for this film to come out?

I would love to see Rhys-Davies too, but mainly because he SWORE he would never get in that getup again!

I have no idea why Rhys-Davies would turn down this opportunities. His Gimli was easily my favorite character in the movies. The legacy of the series far outweighs the inconvenience of the dwarf getup. I mean... what else does he have going on! A Sliders reunion?

He was highly allergic to the makeup used to get him in dwarf costume. Every scene was an agony and his face was red as soon as it was removed (or so the special features on LOTR:EE said) Also on that interview, he swore he would never play a dwarf again. Can't really blame him, but I thought the moment I saw it, "What if he is cast in Hobbit when they eventually make it..."

Filling in for Shia LaBeouf's character in Indy V, hopefully.
Plus, Gimli's really young during the events of The Hobbit, I think. Not like a kid or anything, but probably too young for John Rhys-Davies to play. They could prove me wrong, though!

"The Hobbit" is now going to be a trilogy. I'm guessing that Jackson still takes shit for not including Tom Bombadill and screwing up the placement of the battle for Helm's Keep in the movie's chronology from the purists, hence why he did this.

I'm pretty sure the reason he's doing this is for the 3x money multiplier bonus.
For crying out loud. It should have been one film.

But you'll know we'll show up to watch anyway. Because let's face it, our other options are mediocre superhero movies, the "Anchorman" sequel, bad horror movies, and Michael Bay's latest explosions committed to film.
