Chris Avellone did an interview where he talks some more about Van Buren, Lonesome Road, and Ulysses' cut role as a companion in New Vegas. An interesting read if you want to get more psyched up for Lonesome Road. I've got my Courier parked up in Primm, with Christine's stealth suit (from Dead Money), Joshua Graham's pistol and Father Elijah's laser rifle. I always like to think about what equipment I take into these DLCs, and I think it's cool you can bring stuff from all your adventures on the final journey.

I think my character's still wearing the Desert Ranger combat Armor from Honest Hearts, since my NCR garb was wearing out at the time and I didn't have jury-rigging yet, I had to go on a hunt for them since I like the look of 'em so much.
I have a ritual for the New Vegas DLC that's worked pretty well. My home in Novac has a cabinet set aside for DLC armor, another one for weapons, and a third for random items. After I'm done with the DLC, I file everything away, and any items that would look cool in the room I leave out. I have Sierra Madre gold bars sitting at the foot of my bed; a sink filled with Sierra Madre chips; a bathtub filled with toy dinos; helmets from the BoS, Enclave, and the NCR Rangers sitting on a shelf... Ugh, it's gonna be sad times when Obsidian stops making DLC for NV.
It looks like they're gonna start working on games based on the Wheel of Time next, which could be good or bad depending on who's involved; hopefully the Dungeon Siege 3 team will be benched.

Downloading it now!
The box art for Lonesome Road is beautiful, too. Kind of sad they didn't go with the sort of cicular motif they had for the other add-ons covers, though (The burning bullet hole in Dead Money, Joshua Graham's eyes in Honest Hearts and the watering eye from Old World Blues)

Keeping my fingers crossed for an Obsidian developed Fallout 4 runnning on the Creation Engine and following the NCR again...

Obsidian has always been pretty close to the origin of the Fallout franchise. Chris Avelone was one of the lead writers and Feargus Uruqhart was the project lead on the older games. Obsidian needs to shake off their stigma in this business and a stand alone Fallout 4 would be perfect for them.
the way they made buggy ass piece of crap Fallout 3 actually playable and good has sold me on their ability to continue to make great games. I just hope they hired a good QA lead as well.

Unless Bethesda just really think they can pull off a better Fallout game, I can't see why they shouldn't let Obsidian do Fallout 4. Not to keep putting Bethesda down over Fallout 3, because it was still spectacular and they're the ones who pulled the franchise from the brink, but Obsidian (yet again) used dated technology on a rushed schedule, and still pulled off a fantastic game. Plus, I liked the whole revenge angle, instead of the "find the dad you talked to for like five minutes" angle, since it was a more universal motivator. Liam Neeson, though he was.
(Obsidian also had enough smarts to stay away from the aliens.)
Either way, I hope this means they're not done with Fallout in any case. I know Obsidian's working on a Wheel of Time RPG at the moment, though I don't know enough about the book series to be overly excited about it.
But yeah, they definitely need to shake off that stigma, like you said. After riding that New Vegas wave, Dungeon Siege 3 really, really didn't do them any favors. =/

The New Vegas wave carried with it, it's own stigma. We all had good experiences but a whole lotta folks had a terrible one with bugs in that game until it was patched up.

I just put my 100th hour into New Vegas the other day, and I have yet to see these major glitches everyone and their mothers keep talking about. There was one that made my rifle hover above my head when I got too close to crates, but that one was patched pretty quickly. I had more problems with DA2 glitch-wise.
That doesn't meant they don't exist, but still, it's weird.

I agree. Frankly I'm at the point where I think the gaming press just hates them for some reason. Maybe they hate good writing and innovation?

I agree. Frankly I'm at the point where I think the gaming press just hates them for some reason. Maybe they hate good writing and innovation? Probably/definitely. It's a shame, because I think people focus on the combat more than anything else. If it's not close to Call of Duty, some people will completely disregard everything else it has going for it. That's me being cynical, though. =(

Wow, that's a damn good price for the PC version. Kind of stinks that I have the stand-alone version of New Vegas, but it's not all bad since I haven't gotten any of the DLC yet. I'm sure my little brother's wife will only try to kill me if I send him my copy after this ultimate version comes out....

I was just considering buying the original at the gamestop yesterday. Decided to wait for just such a pack.
