Littlefinger is rather creepy; Aidan Gillen is an awesome actor ... but I have noticed that sometimes his 'stache makes me think of Ned Flanders, and that is the creepiest comparison ever!
I do like Sansa in Season 2, but for most of Season 1 she was almost as twerpy as in the book...
And as for Joff's name-day thing I was thinking of - didn't he stand on the walls of the castle with a crossbow and shoot peasants? Or was that just something that was alluded to but not shown? I don't know now where I got that...
As for Book 5, I am trying to find it online but so far unsuccessfully. But, my name is getting higher on the list at the library so I should be able to get it soon... lol

Just watched Ep. 5: The Ghost of Harrenhal - I have to say, I am rather impressed with the young actors in this show! Isaac Hempstead-Wright is wonderful as Bran Stark; I loved the scene with him sitting at the table as The Stark in Winterfell, with Maester Luwin on one side and little Rickon on the other - Rickon was pounding things on the table, starting to show how feral he is becoming... and Luwin was slumping exasperatedly while Bran was listening attentively and acting the Lord to his bannermen - I particularly loved his line when Luwin questioned Roderick's need for 200 men to defend against the raid: "If we cannot protect our own bannermen, why should they protect us?" Bran is so much more insightful and seems to be more potentially powerful than he is given credit for.
And Arya - my gods above and below! Kudos to Maisie Williams - I love Arya! I loved the conversation between her and Jaqen H'ghar (Tom Wlaschiha plays him like no other could - before I knew who would play Jaqen, I had wondered who could pull off that role - and had never heard of Tom Wlaschiha but he is awesome). He speaks Jaqen's dialect so flawlessly - I love how the words flow off his tongue: "A girl says nothing... a girl keeps her mouth closed... no one hears, and friends may talk in secret, yes? A boy becomes a girl..." "I was always a girl." "And, I was always aware... but, a girl keeps secrets? It is not for a man to spoil them." I always loved the way Jaqen spoke, in the books, and thanks to Tom Wlaschiha, now in the show as well. Hats off to all the actors for portraying such favorite characters so flawlessly! ;D
And now, I can't wait to see how they do the rest of Jaqen's 'payments' to Arya... and I have no doubt he will perform admirably when she 'says his name'.

I agree with you there, Gorvar, about Jojen and Meera Reed - I was actually rather excited to see if the show's interpretation of those characters would match my mental images of them... But maybe Osha is going to replace the Reed siblings as Bran's companion? I know in the book she goes with Rickon - but I am sensing a bit of comradeship blossoming between Osha and Bran...

It;s possible, since the name change they did for Asha/Yara would waarant something like that.

As I recall, they didn't show up until shortly before Theon arrives. They explain Bran's vision as prophetic like hours before it happens.
Though to be honest there's not been much for them to do since they took off in the books. Last I read, they were hanging out in the cave while Bran talked to the "child of the trees' or whatever he is.

Just got all caught up on my GoT-watching from the last couple of weeks. Read the books, so I knew this was coming, but...Theon, you sassy little traitorous bastard. If you weren't played by Alfie Allen I would break you.

Ok... I am confused... are they merging the books for the series? Because I can't quite recall the massacre at Qarth from the novel "A Clash of Kings", and I don't recall Dany's dragons ever being taken from her by force... it has been a while since I read the book and it's not in my possession at the moment so I can't check... but I don't recall this. Not that I am complaining, I do like the direction the show is taking; I'm just confused. Also because I can sense Theon's comeuppance may be approaching. And given what he did to Winterfell and to Ser Rodrik Cassel, no amount of torture and breaking will suffice... gods damn you, Theon Greyjoy. I will say, though, GO OSHA GO! ;D I love Osha in the show; I liked her in the book too but I think Natalia Tena portrays her so well... and her determination to help Bran and Rickon even though she is technically the Starks' prisoner is awesome. I will also say that I absolutely love the interaction between Sandor Clegane and Sansa Stark - I think it's sweet how he is determined to protect her no matter what... and I was terrified for her in the alley where she was attacked... even though I read the book and knew Sandor would save her in time, I was still terrified on her behalf - it was awful watching a young girl come so close to being assaulted in that manner... It's a terrifying thing to go through and her world is being brutally torn down piece by piece around her, the poor girl. All in all, I can't wait to see how things unfold from here on out...

There was no massacre in the book, but it was a long drawn out process before she realized the rich guy was manipulating her in order for her to give him a dragon. So this simplifies things.
In the books it takes forever before we learn what happened to Theon. I wonder what tack they will take with the show.
