So I want to talk about Game of thrones (The TV Show) with the other people on here who've read "The Song of Ice & Fire" series by George R.R. Martin. If you're watching and don't want spoilers leave now!

So did they eliminate Stannis' family or what? I suppose that makes sense, because I never understood the significance of Patchface or his daughter. His wife was the one who got him stuck on the lord of light stuff, but I suppose we can't have her ruining opportunities for sexy redhead moments.

I didnt see the second episode yet, will do on sunday due to me being in Belgium. As far as I know there is a actress hired for Stannis' wife. Although for the sake of pacing i can see her being written out.... Now in the books i was certain that Stannis was shagging Melisandre. Hell every time she used the shadow people thingy, im pretty sure those were stannis; as well. KING SEED KILLS PEOPLE!!!!!!

I haven't seen any of Season Two yet (Oh, I am so deprived) since I don't have cable - and can't seem to find it online yet. But I have read the first 4 books - and I have to giggle at that, Gorvar, KING SEED KILLS PEOPLE!! Very true... and look at Robert Baratheon in Book / Season 1 - his bastard children were all in danger, once he was gone and Joffrey took the throne... so, there ya go... His seed could be considered to kill them... if they were unlucky enough to be found by Joffrey's men.

Ok then. Having now watched the first two episodes of Season 2, I recall Stannis saying "No... I have a wife, I took a vow" when Melisandre opened her dress and stood there trying to tempt him with the sight of hot (but a tad skinny) naked redhead... but, she coerced him by telling him she could give him sons unlike his wife who had only given him stillborns. Based on that, I'm guessing Shireen and Patchface were written out of the show, but Selyse is still included - just in the background. "Locked away in a tower", as Melisandre said. And BTW - I am just as anti-Melisandre for the show as I was for the books. Ick. She creeps me out. On a non-Stannis-related note, does anyone else think Arya and Gendry would make a cute couple? I was rather charmed by the whole "Oh - you're a Lady! A Highborn Lady! All that stuff about cocks, I shouldn't have said that!" "Don't call me a Lady!" "Whatever you say, My Lady..." *Arya pushes Gendry down*. I had to giggle at the smile on his face - they're adorable together! But maybe I'm just a 'shipper in disguise...

IF it ever happens I would say we have 2 books in the way. They get separated pretty soon, and the last we'd heard of the two of them in book 5, Arya was in Braavos, and Gendry was playing Commander of the Inn at the wreckage of the The Only Inn in Westeros TM (since Tyrion, Arya, Brienne & Jaime have stayed at it so far...)

Oh, I know - but, that doesnt mean I can't think of some cutesy / sappy AU fanfics since I know it can't really happen. I just noticed a bit of chemistry there that I had only barely glimpsed in the book. And since I typically don't write romance / sappy stuff, it'll be an interesting experience...

I expect Arya has a long way to go yet and we'll see some very interesting developments for her & Sansa & Rickon. Jon is up in the north, and Bran is up even farther, but most of them are still barely over 13.

So I hear that I can find a solution to my "Can't find season 2 episodes anywhere online" problem.
I managed to see the first episode and half of the 2nd episode before the player just STOPPED!
Should I just PM Clint?

I might have a solution for you. Though in others' case my intervention was merely helpful rather than necessary.

Something just occurred to me... I was re-watching the episode / scene where Theon Greyjoy encounters Yara (who should be named Asha - damn the show makers for thinking it would not work due to Osha - it worked just fine in the book). I hate to be a nit-picker, but I think it was better done in the book, the whole Theon / Asha(Yara) thing. I liked her smart-assness in the book - in the show, she's just... flat (personality wise). But, I guess that's what happens when book is taken to show.

Well they changed her name to avoid Confusion with the wildling Osha back at Winterfell. I think it would have been better to have her do her whole reel about husband and children. But cutting it cut about 5 minutes of dialogue and background scenery they didn't have and made Theon's realization all the more "WTF!" They are forced to make a lot of things shorter. Next season is going to take more time, I'm told.

I know they changed her name to avoid confusion with Osha - but, I'm not sure why there would have been confusion, as Asha and Osha were never in the same place. I don't know... maybe I just shouldn't care anyway; Asha was never a character I liked anyway - much as I liked her smart-assery, I just didn't like... her. Ah, well, minor details...

So far... As of book 5, Osha & Rickon were headed south and might be somewhere near White Harbor, as Davos was being sent to look for them. And Asha is in disgrace after losing her bid for the crown so she might run into them.
