Just go read the bloody book! I will go read the bloody book, as soon as there's a copy availiable at the library for me to read! *pouts* It's not by my own design that I am so tragically deprived, my dear Mr. Johnston! I am too broke to justify buying it hard-cover; I'm waiting for the paperback to be availiable so it'll match the rest of my collection of paperbacks, and the library is out of copies at last attempt! Edit: And BTW, Clint, would you not rather I read Mock Effect 2? ;D Because that's been keeping me company in my temporary exile from Westeros...

I put my name on an Order List at the library... I'll read it as soon as I can... sorry for being so late with it... Though I did find out today that a friend of mine owns the book - I might be able to mooch it off her if she can find it - it got 'misplaced' in her house.

Doubly so for those who want to read in between calls at work... Indeed - which is why I can only ready Fanfics in small doses... and it takes a while to get through them. When it comes to books, I find the physical page easier to read than a glowing computer screen.

Mm... I would not mind having a Kindle, really, it would save room rather than having stacks of books all over the apartment. But, certain books, I really do prefer the binding and page version - like my James Patterson books... my Harry Potter books... my Song of Ice and Fire books... they also look nice on my bookshelf... ;D
Also, as JKLinders so accurately pointed out, Kindles cost money. Money which I do not have. If I had enough money now to buy a Kindle, I'd more likely be using that money to pay off my very hungry Visa bill. *sigh* I wish I had more money... or a marketable talent for art or writing to make money with.
Edit: corrected a rather grievous spelling error; two days later because I am that obsessive.

An odd question, I know, but I once saw a gif on this site when Linders was online and I saw it on his computer screen - long before I joined the forum - and I don't know who had posted it. It was hilarious, and as I was re-watching Game of Thrones Season 1 today I was reminded of it. Any help in locating this gif would be greatly appreciated. It was a gif of Sansa sitting at the Tourney, looking all sullen as she always does, and Littlefinger's smug face slowly leans in, waggles his eyebrows and leans back out - there is no noticeable break in the image; it's done so flawlessly - and I can't find it anywhere online!! This vexes me... Can someone please help?

Yeah, someone on here had it as their avatar. I forget who. Might want to post your question in a non spoiler thread and see if someone remembers.

Latest Episode continued the cutting short of Arya's adventures. She's been bumped up to cup bearer early. Which is ok, since I'm waiting eagerly for the return of Jaquen Ha'quar. Tyrion's recruitment of Lancel was pretty much the same. The Stannis/Renly feud cut out the Storm's End location, but it wasn't vital to Renly's passing (Though it would explain exactly where it was Davos & Red Woman were going) Joffrey's sadism was more implied in the books, but his "nameday surprise" sequence surely wasn't out of character. The biggest change was Robb's meeting the Nurse. In the books he marries a lady of a poorer family and secures a minor alliance instead of the Freys. I'm thinking the writers decided a lowborn nurse would be more of an insult. What did you guys think of the intro for Roose Bolton?

I'm actually a tad pissed off I didnt see the pink banner or the battle that went with it. I do like Bolton though, cant wait to see Ramsay! My problem is despite it being called the Garden of Bones, we saw very little of the Targaryens which is actually my favourite House next to the Greyjoys.
Anyone else noticed both Pyke or Winterfell werent seen in this episode?

Just watched Ep. 4: Garden of Bones... and Unholy Mother of Sithis! I knew Joffrey was a sadistic little shite, but I don't recall that scene (the one in his bedroom with Ros and the other prostitute) from the book (and unfortunately left the book in my desk at work so I can't check it to confirm) but didn't he do something different in the book as his 'name-day fun'?
I must say though, they cast a rather awesome actor to play Xaro Xhoan Daxos... I rather enjoyed his defense of Daenerys at the Gates of Qarth... and the other guy with the 'unpronouncable name' who tried to prevent Dany entering the city, he was a rather detestable little rotter, wasn't he? Sheesh...
And once again, I know I say this a lot, but Gods bless you, Tyrion Lannister! I loved his timely entrance to the Throne Room to rescue Sansa, and rather enjoyed the verbal smack-down he laid upon Joffrey and Ser Meryn and the others: "I'm not threatening the king, ser, I am educating my nephew. Bronn, next time Ser Meryn speaks, kill him. Now, that was a threat. See the difference?" Now, I didn't like Sansa in the book due to her insufferable naivety and feather-headed view of 'courtly affairs', but she's rather less annoying in the show and I feel so bad for her... I also rather enjoyed seeing Tyrion tear a verbal strip off Lancel, and seeing Lancel go so quickly from arrogant ponce to terrified twerp... ;D That made my day...
On a book-related note, regarding the first book "Game of Thrones", Linders suggested something that got me thinking a little and I wonder if anyone else sees it... he and I were talking about the book and I commented on the scene where Sansa is talking to her friend Jeyne Poole after the Court Session where Ned Stark (with his injured leg) was sitting the Iron Throne and made the decision to send Lord Dondarrion to mete out justice upon The Mountain. Sansa tells Jeyne of her dream in which Joffrey captures the White Stag (or White Hart, I can't recall) for her, and Jeyne says "A dream, truly? Did he just walk up to it, lay his bare hand on it and do it no harm?" and I interpreted that as Jeyne being just as twerpy as Sansa - Linders said he interpreted that as Jeyne being sarcastic and subtly mocking Sansa, who doesn't recognize the wit. Now that he mentions that interpretation, I can see it... I wonder if anyone else saw it that way?

I didn't pay much attention to that scene, so I don't know. I do know that Jeyne Poole is back in book 5.
The only name day situation in the book was the one in the first episode, which had Sansa intervene on behalf of Ser Dontos (W/ the Hound's backing). This was an addition, but a good one.
Unpronounceable name guy. Detestable? Perhaps. Awesome? Absolutely.
Tyrion is a favorite of mine as well, but I dislike how quickly he loses it when he has to go on the run. It's like, come on, man, you're the Imp! Pull yourself together!
Sansa has grown on me. She's a twerp, but she gets it naturally. And she's getting smarter with age. I mean, look how she handled her cousin Robin in book 4 (or book 3, I forget). Littlefinger was a favorite, but it's only with the TV show that I'm seeing how creepy he is.
