Septon Meribald, probably. Old Priest, who's obviously not been a priest the whole time.

Ooh, that'd be interesting... after seeing Ian McShane play Bishop Waleran Bigod in "Pillars of the Earth", I'd be interested to see him play a good priest as opposed to the corrupt jackass he was in "Pillars of the Earth"...

It's not completely off his Deadwood character of Al Swearengen, or at least what I've seen of Al in seasons 1 - 0.5 of 2. He does what needs to be done, and acts in the larger group's best interest.

Al Swearengen was such a lovable dickhead. I loved Ian McShane's portrayal of such a brilliant anti-villain as Al.

Does it bother anyone else the guy playing Ned in flashbacks looks like a young Ned Stark but doesn't look like a young Sean Bean?
Then again, I suppose he did have to survive that swordfight...

A valid point. His chin is very pointy.

Just finished watching Episode 5: The Door. Spoilers ahead - but such is life in this thread... --- Wow. I did not think an episode of Game of Thrones could make me so emotional. Not even seeing the death of Ned Stark in the first season, or the Red Wedding in the third season, or Oberyn's death in the fourth season, made my eyes tear up like this. The death of Myrcella came close, if only because she was so sweet and innocent, and her death did not come as a result of any mistakes on her part but simply from being born a Lannister, but she was not as major of a character as Hodor. Poor Hodor... and now we know how he became Hodor. Dear god, my heart broke for him... and the look on Bran's face as he realized what was happening... the "Holy shit... what have I done?" face... Good lord. I wonder though; was it only because I did not see it coming that it hit me so hard? I mean, Season 6 is making use of material that has not been in the published books yet - so, when Ned died in Season One, I expected it due to reading the books. I was resigned to it, and saw it coming. Same with the Red Wedding - even the added victim of having Robb's wife there was pretty much as expected. And with Oberyn vs. The Mountain, my thoughts were not so much " How will Oberyn beat that giant?" so much as " Ooh, how gory are they going to make this??" Up until now, I saw everything coming due to the general outline from having read the books - but now, I honestly can't see how Bran is going to survive without Hodor or Summer... and dear god, Summer, the sound of the whimpering as he was swarmed by the monsters... that tore at my heartstrings... but Hodor! Poor Hodor!

They're really sockin' it to this Ned Stark guy. He must work there or something.

I don't get the reference as I barely pay attention to this show, But Lily insisted this needed to be posted when she saw it. Spoiler tagged for the innocent.

I quit watching about ten minutes in, but Bran and Meera got saved by Scorpion from the Mortal Kombat series?
Holy shit, talk about trading up!

Annnnnnd now it's gone. Alas, we barely knew you Septon Meribald.
I feel like we're totally beyond the books now. Production thinning the stories for TV was something I could handle when the stories were something I knew were fleshed out. Now it just feels really thin.
