Just got the colon-fest, Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan, in the mail today. Karpyshyn actually went out of his way to thank Obsidian in the acknowledgments.
Nice.

Just got the colon-fest, Star Wars: The Old Republic: RevanDepending on how unbadly he manages not to mess up, I might pick this up. Karpyhoweveryouspellhisname left Mass Effect to work on TOR, didn't he? Be sure to let us know what you think!

I want to wait to throw out all of my impressions until Buch has had a chance to read some of it. But in brief, I'll sum up what I've read so far like this: the Exile's real name is Meetra Surik.

Fuck. That. Then again, when I play KotOR II, I normally end up calling her "The Exile". It fits, y'know?

Dear God, the names. He must be the cousin of Lord Dread. And the great grandson of Lord Plague. I bet he is also the brother of lord I'm a Bad Guy. They don't like to talk about him though.

Isn't 'hamming the dark up' a needed trait for Sith lords?

Isn't 'hamming the dark up' a needed trait for Sith lords? I'm not so sure if that is a Sith thing or a Lucas is a silly writer thing. Column A or B, I can't decide which. This Lord Creepy Namew thing seems to have a more recent and Lucas derived vintage to it. After all, Malak and Revan used real names. Palpatine used his real name too.

In the Extended Universe it seems to be a thing to pick the most menacing name you can find when entering the Sith Order.
