Yep, all 6 movies (including the wretched "Episode I"). Why, George, why?! (I know why, actually. It's a rhetorical question. But why can't he just leave well enough alone?)

Okay, okay...
Okay.
(Breathes.)
Okay, so the 3-D gimmick is pretty stupid.
BUT.
WILL THIS BE IN CINEMAS.

Good question. The article doesn't mention it, but with the way Lucas talks about staging each movie's release date, they *could* be. Either that, or he's just releasing them on DVD like Disney would. We shall see.

George, for the love of God, put them out in cinemas. Don't worry so much about the prequels, but...
It's one of my life ambitions to see the orginal trilogy in cinemas.

All six movies will be going to theaters, in order, starting in 2012. The BAD thing is that they're only releasing one goddamn movie a year, since it supposedly takes that long to convert each movie into 3D. Which means by the time Return of the Jedi comes out, it's gonna be 2017. No joke.
Fuck that. xD

Return of the Jedi in 2017. That's something to look forward to.
Does it really take that long?!

I doubt it. I did read that it takes a while to do 3D *well*, but I don't think that it really takes that long.

It's something to look forward to but...dang I'll be 29 by the time they're done running, I'll probably be living in my apartment on the Moon. =D And I'm just going by this article: www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i677c428c4dc16c2c7592835d50e86a3aI saw A New Hope in theaters when the Special Editions were making their rounds, and that was a pretty fun day. I bet seeing them in 3D will be great, and I'll probably end up seeing all of them anyway. But still! Seven years! >.<!

Yeah but each year there will be something really cool to look forward to!
Dude, imagine if by 2014 everyone has gotten bored and they don't bother carrying on xD

*sniff* I remember when "Empire" and "Jedi" were in theatres before the special editions came around. Damn, I am old. I think I was four when "A New Hope" was first released?
I never understood the point of adding in the extra footage. Jabba's scene in "A New Hope" is probably the only one that made any sense. The other two movies didn't need it.

I liked the Jabba scene at first, but then if you listen to Han, he repeats a lot of dialog that he said back in the cantina. Plus, now all of that CG looks dated, so Jabba looks like he's seen better days. xD

I hate that Jabba scene...
Here are the changes I DO like, mind you.
1) In 'Star Wars' they make the lightsabers look better so that they match up with the other two movies. 2) In Empire, they make R2 colour instead of black and white when he's in space. 3) In Jedi, they change Han's line 'It's all right, trust me!' to 'It's all right, I can see a lot better!'
Everything else they did is awful! Espescially what they did to Jedi. Espescially the scene with the singing cartoon character with the tonsils.

1) How they remastered everything. You don't see bits of the green screen anymore. 2) Pretty much everything in "Empire," including the better view of Cloud City. 3) Han's line in "Jedi" that Buch mentioned. 4) And how they redid all of the lettering in all of the movies so that it looks more consistent and alien.
I didn't care for anything else. I think "A New Hope" is a mess with all of that dated CG, and that silly decision to make Han shoot second. And "Jedi" has that weird musical bit in Jabba's Palace. =S

I hate to ask(this is a George Lucas creation afterall) but remind me. Who the hell is the singing cartoon character with the tonsils? Is that Lando's co-pilot in the Battle over Endor?
