*hiss* Why would anyone want to put down an innocent puppy? Or kitten or any animal, really... good lord... I'm glad the vet saved the puppies... is the puppies' mother safe as well, or still with the careless so-called owner?
Good lord... that picture is so hypnotizingly adorable... I can't stop staring... oh, those eyes... that little nose... such a cute little puppy... I think she looks like she's smiling... ;D

Just a small thing but I find it very satisfying to try to cook something I am unfamiliar with for the first time and do it very well.
I treated lily to a meal of Potstickers and Pad Thai tonight. Never made either before. Well, work has a decent Pad Thai but the sauce for it is not made in house and I don't work that part of the kitchen. As is my usual thing when I try to make a dish at home I was as scratch made as possible. Except I could not find anywhere any Tamarind paste for the recipe I was using. I subbed out that for sweet chili sauce and (believe it or not Worcestershire sauce which actually uses Tamarind) The result tasted pretty darn good, though I doubt it was terribly authentic.
Anyway I was pretty darn happy with it.

It was awesome! I love Potstickers and Pad Thai - and until tonight, I'd thought the Pad Thai at his restaurant was the best I'd ever eaten - but tonight the Jack Astor's Pad Thai was usurped by JKLinders' Pad Thai - Linders made the best Pad Thai I ever had!
It was a phenomenal Early Valentine's Day Dinner! ;D
I love My Linders...
Oh, and another little thing I love - my mother is coming home to Halifax one week from today!!! She had to spend almost another week in the hospital for a second surgery (this time on her leg) and she's been in Florida the whole time and I miss her terribly and can't wait to see her again - and she called me tonight to tell me that as long as her next appointment with the surgeon on Monday goes well, he should give her the A-OK to fly home... I am so excited!

Glad to hear it, Lily!
Great job on the dinner Linders. Does this mean you are off the hook tomorrow?

Glad to hear it, Lily! Great job on the dinner Linders. Does this mean you are off the hook tomorrow? Given the complexity of the meal it was either yesterday or Saturday as I really don't know my off time today or tomorrow. Without the potstickers, Pad Thai is actually remarkably simple to make, the potstickers added pretty close to an hour to the prep.

I've already made it clear that unless he plans to experiment with something new again, then my Birthday Dinner in May should be looking remarkably Pad-Thai-ish... ;D Of course, the Pad Thai and Potstickers was Linders' experimenting in the kitchen, and if he thinks of something else experimenty, then he's free to make whatever he can think of - it'll be awesome anyway - but the Pad Thai is top on my list of favorite Linders-made-meals.

I asked Henry to please share the couch yesterday. This isn't *quite* what I had in mind: It's a good thing Henry gets along with everybody, including the neighbor's hyper Jack Russell mix (I don't think the little guy has a clue just how lucky he is): (Yeah, we need rain. At least a foot of it.)
