I find the recent HP film is utterly FUCKING hillerious... in an unintentional sort of a way.
There are a lot of things I want to make a mockery of, particularly that bimbo witch that was obsessed with Ron that she had to spike his drink with a love potion and how Ron acted when got influanced by that was utterly childish like a fricken 6 year old boy.
I've managed to sit through that movie without spouting an mst. I was surprised by that! Also I've barely refrained myself jumping up and punching in the air when that bimbo got OWNED hardcore and stopped chasing Ron afterwards.
So yeah imo HP is a tad more terrible then the LotR film.

I love The Lord of the Rings books *Pets* Its ok Hodster. We'll find you some wheel of time books and everything will be ok again. ____________ As much as I will mock the HP movie I'm still gonna buy it to add to my collection for the sheer sake of having something to watch at 4am on an insomniac night. they really do the trick getting em to sleep and duo providing an amusing dream.

heh heh. That should be fun.
Although I have to admit the film is charming as space mutiny in a B-grade sort of a way.
Speking of B-Grade mockery, I feel tempted to rent out "Too Human" the very least once I find a way to video or screen shot it from the xbox

I'm glad you agree with me on the new Harry Potter, Till! Yeah it was very unintentionally funy - particularly the ridiculously over the top 'love' acting. Pretty much all the female characters in that films were just there to be hopelessly in love with one of the male characters, and that's all they did. They just stared, mouth open and wide-eyed, and breathed heavily. Espescially that unbelievable overactor who was in 'love' wth Ron.
The last half of the film was good though.
I saw a review that summed up the whole series of films like this- First movie: I'm a wizard! Yay! Second movie: Something strange is going on but I don't know what... Third movie: Something strange is still going on but I still don't know what... Fourth movie: Something strange is STILL going on (voice breaks) but I don't know what. Fifth movie: Something strange is going on and all I can think about is girls! Sixth movie: I don;t care what's going on - I've gotta get laid!
-- --
As for LOTR, I have to say that I think the movies are almost flawless. I think they're among the best movies I ever saw, certainly the best fantasy films. They're just brilliant. The acting (except maybe Viggo) the scenery, the effects, the excitement, the perfect adaptation taking all the good bits of the books and none of the crap. Elijah Wood was magnificent! Ian McKellen was better! Agent Smith was there! Liv Tyler was very pretty! So was Cate Blanchett for that matter! And the music is absolutely unbelievable.
As for the books - I tried them after the movie and only managed the first two. They are ridiculously drawn-out. Every little step of the journey, every word of every conversation has to be carefully explained. The amount of backstory is completely ridiculous, and Tolkein constantly feels the need to interrupt the story to give you several pages explaining some minor detail that has no bearing at all on the plot.
And my God, the songs.
Roughly every four pages, Tolkein decides to compose an entire set of song lyrics, usually all about whatever pointless backstory he's just explained, and you have to read them to understand the next conversation.
I think the story itself is actually thrilling - the second book of 'The Fellowship of the Ring' for example really really gripped me. It's just such a shame that he layered so much inpenetrable crap on top of this excellent story. The book would be perfect for his die-hard fans - mainly because they understand what the hell is going on. I was constantly confused.
The movie took away all the nonsense and just told the story - focusing on the characters and the fun parts.

Well that was a long post.

heh, that review kinda sums up well about HP Buch.
Seriously for the first half I'm like watching Gossip Girls: The Hogwarts Edition. The plot didn't kicked in until the 2nd half. That's the only part I really liked. I have to admit I was moved by the ending for it. It was really sad to see Dumbledore go, one my favourite characters in the HP world. Also it does fit well with regarding Snape's actions at the end. Kudos to Snape and Dumbledore to make the film memorable in a Space Mutiny sense.
Now as for LotR, despite the heated debates with Zars, it was one of the best book to film adaptations to be really honest. Sure it has it faults but in the end the translation to the film was good. It didn't fall into the curse of bad adaptations like most other films. I've seen a lot worse adaptations before. Well in my view anyways in regards to my recent class teaches about it from last year.
(Yes you heard me right! We're learning about bad adaptations from games/books/comics/whatever to the big screen. Fun fun fun, huh?)

I love Uwe Boll. And this one features the astonishing ham acting of Ben Kingsley. This will be a treat.
Edit: Also, there is a special feature named 'Dinner with Uwe Boll'. God yes.

Isn't Bloodrayne the film where they hired prostitues in place of actors to keep production costs down?

I'm watching a scene now in which vampire Meatloaf (Meatloaf!) is in bed surrounded by silent, pouting naked girls. I can believe this prostitutes thing, and I think it is sheer GENIUS.
Update: Meatloaf is dead now, and the girls are unhappy.
Update 2: According to Wikipedia, yes- those were the prostitutes. Fantastic.

Snipped from Wikipedia:
"Critics ridiculed director Boll for hiring actual prostitutes instead of actors for a scene featuring Meat Loaf in order to save on production costs. They were allegedly only paid 150 euros."
