The only time I ever heard his music was in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The only times I ever heard o him was the name. Just to hear him gone really is sucky. The first big and heartbreaking goodbye in 2016.

Other notifications.... We lost Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead just before New Year's at the age of 70 to a very aggressive cancer. And just today, I learned we lost Alan Rickman. How the hell are we losing so many awesome people?

So far January has been a bad month for this... losing Lemmy Kilmister at the end of December, and then David Bowie and Alan Rickman in the same week this week is devastating. And that it was cancer that took all three of them saddens me greatly - I really wish all this cancer research and such could actually FIND a cure. Or a prevention. Something to eradicate it before it gets into anyone.

The Grim Reaper has really been a dickhead this past month. Scott Weiland, Lemmy Kilmeister, David Bowie, and now Alan Rickman. What a shitty time.

Phife Dawg, frontman for the Hip-Hop group 'A Tribe Called Quest' has passed away due to complications with diabetes. Phife was well known for his modesty in a genre full of boasting, as well as being one of the first rappers, along with De La Soul and the Beastie Boys, to reinvent hip hop as an art form.

That sucks. Poor guy... And this is just another point of the many hints I've been seeing lately that I need to take better care of myself. I am diabetic as well. I've been having issues lately that are likely directly related to being diabetic. I don't want to die young, so I need to get my ass in gear and educate myself on how to manage my illness in a way that will not lead to me dying.

Admiral Akbar is dead.Or rather his voice actor. The Rebel Alliance/Resistance will have to find someone else to warn them of impending traps. RIP

This one's going to hurt Clint... but Merle Haggard bought it a couple days ago. Aged 79.

Actually, Haggard only has a couple selections in my collection. We differed on our politics a bit.

A sad day, indeed... Legendary musician Prince has passed away, and so has former WWE wrestler Chyna... this is a sad day. May they both rest in peace...

He's not gone yet but Gord Downie, frontman of the Tragically Hip has been diagnosed with incurable brain cancer. In true Canadian fashion he is determined to give one last tour to blow his fans minds. He has a unique vocal and lyrical style that speaks to people even if they are not fully fans of their music.

2016 isn't done kicking us in the balls yet. John Herschel Glenn Jr., USMC aviator, test pilot, first American to orbit the Earth, oldest man to fly in space, died today at age 95.

Jesus Christ... why....?! AND ANOTHER Greg Lake, bassist and vocalist of my favorite Prog Rock band, King Crimson, died today. "In The Court of the Crimson King" can easily be in my top 50 songs ever. Fucking Hell.
