I hope the new Star Wars film has things like Jedi, X-Wings, TIE fighters and Stormtroopers.
Then I can point at the screen and say, "Hey, it's that thing from the old films!"
It'll be like a film version of Gotham.

Based on Abrams' Star Trek films, odds are good that all of those things will be present, and someone from Glee will play young Han Solo who has arrived via time travel and spends the entire film saying "This is where the fun begins!" and "Never tell me the odds!" at moments where it makes no sense at all to say them. While winking. While they fight Boba Fett.

And Boba Fett is played by Matt Smith. And he's Luke Skywalker's greatest nemesis. And Luke kills him in a fit of rage by plunging his lightsaber into his chest and there's blood everywhere.

They need to up the game with the crazy lightsabers, too. Maybe introduce a triple or quadruple-ended saber, so they can one up the coolest Star Wars character ever, Darth Maul.

I mean, have you seen the trailer yet? Because literally everything you listed is in it, including the crazy new lightsaber. I can't tell if that's a coicidence or you're doing a thing.
Dear new Sith Lord: That's like.... that's the exact opposite of what the hilt of a sword is for. xD

I'd seen it, but I had all those concerns when the film and JJ's involvement was announced.
They can't tease us with that profoundly looking stupid lightsaber and not have the guy kill a major character with one side of the guard somehow.
Also, I was waiting for a shot of Old Han Solo saying something gruff and amusing to cap off the trailer. Never happened. JJ can't make a trailer for shit.

He's the only one in his class not to have lost 2 or more fingers to it in training.

Yeah it really was a bit dull, that trailer.
All we learned was that the film will contain Star Wars stuff, some guy with an evil voice talking bollocks about the Force, a dark Jedi of some description and that the cast includes a pretty young woman looking determined and a guy looking overwhelmed. I already knew those things.

Wasnt the dude from "Attack the Block" in the stormtrooper outfit that one supporting character from the rebels show?

I dunno about that, but he did a really excellent acting job in 'Attack the Block'.

Also, are they just calling this Star Wars: The Force Awakens, now? No Episode 7? That seems wrong.

That will get confusing when the spin-off films get announced...

There will probably be an 'Episode 7' on screen in the title crawl. But remember, Empire and Jedi were just billed commercially by their subtitles, never mind this 'episode' bollocks.

We got the prequels to thank for that. Thanks George Lucas! The best thing you could've done for the franchise is selling it off to Disney!

I honestly never knew that. I guess I'm a pretty casual Star Wars fan, you know. I just watched the films and played the games. Probably couldn't even name all the bounty hunters Vader hires in ESB.
