Starring Shia Le Bouef as Jacen Solo.

I dunno....i think Leo Dicaprio is better suited for Jacen, espcially when he takes after Evil Grandpa.

I was just making an Indy 4 reference, not being serious.
I'd hope Leo would stay away from Star Wars 7 anyway. I don't feel optimistic about this film.

Indy 4 wasn't so bad. I don't really think it was needed but I didn't see the hate either.

The thing that I didn't like was the aliens. But apparently George Lucas demanded that element or wouldn't make it.

The aliens are pretty much what spoiled the film, yeah. I guess they were shy about making the Soviets and the tribesmen into the bad guys for fear of appearing racist? And yet they still made the Soviet look one shade less evil than the Gestapo from Raiders..... I dunno.
I actually like Indy 4. Not a great deal - not nearly as much as the other three - but I think it's a good movie. Astonishingly I think Shia LaBoeuff's character is the best thing in it, since he has a unique relationship with Indy and allows us to really see how Ind has grown into middle age, and reflects the time period with his Marlon Brando-wannabe attitude. I sure do wish it wasn't about aliens (we now have the Ark of the Covenant, Hindu magic, the Holy Grail and ALIENS in one continuity?) but I do like that there was a point to them thematically - that because it was set in the 50's/60's there were aliens rather than treasures. It's a nice idea. It just could have been a lot more comprehensible and had a few thousand fewer CGI ants and monkeys.

Excellent point actually Buch. I had forgotten just how much of the crackpot "Chariots of the Gods" type of pseudo science emerged from the 50s and 60s. Indy was based partially on 30s adventure serials so why not have the culture that afflicted science in the 60s affect the later continuity?

I agree on....-winces in pain- Shia Lebuttfuck;s character being a nice foil to Indiana. ....but the CGI monkeys can go screw themselves.
