On day four: killed the rancor (thanks for the tips, Gorvar! I left two of the team for dead in the main chamber and had the third throw every grenade they had at the rancor, run back into the tunnel, and so on until it was dead). Swept the Vulkar base. Can confirm that the Swoop race was fun! My best time was 25 seconds or something. I've no idea if it's any good, but it seemed good enough for the win. Met Bastila! My, what an attitude. I try to be polite. Had to crack a joke at some point, though. Did they actually base her appearance on Jennifer Hale? Because she does look like her. Eventually made it out of Taris and to Dantooine. Now I'm training to be a Jedi.

Carth and Bastilla Both look like their respective voice actors at the time of the game.I think the first swoop race is kinda rigged so you will have a pretty good shot at winning regardless.
I can't remember what constitutes a good time but it gets harder to win at the other 2 tracks. Bastila is vain and haughty. It's pretty hard to like her at first. Sets her up nicely as the male romance option really as it actually feels like you have to turn her around to liking you if you play a male.
Game opens up nicely after Dantooine. It really feels like it's starting after you leave that planet and have some freedom of movement.

I would suggest going to Tatooine first, espcially since you can purchase your coolest compagnion there to date...HK-47. Statement: You would be a foolish meatbag to not pick me first...Master.

You know there was a much easier way to kill the rancor!

I tried both, Buch - I found I'd get more XP by killing it the straight-forward way! At this point I'm trying to raise funds for the translation droid. The third tier at the swoop race is tough; must beat 22:50 but my best time so far is 22:91. Augh! I think both Carth and Bastilla are less than charming, but they're quite well written. The acting is good, too - especially Sbarge's! Edit: I meant tier, not tear. I could own it as a double entendre, I guess, but...

Aaaaah I see. Well at least you sussed the Rancor out. I remember getting it on my second time and feeling very silly.
I'm with you on Bastila by the way. She's a litte obnoxious even when you lighten her up. Keep at that swoop racing!

I'm doing a very good job of being civil to both. I wonder if that will make them feel silly about their attitude in the end. I can't say I wouldn't enjoy that. (Gosh I played a lot today, but then again it's Sunday.) I eventually gave up on the third tier swoop race on Tatooine. For some reason, after a certain point hitting the boost pads in the last part of the race would do nothing. Even though my technique improved, my times actually got worse. Fatigue or a glitch? I'm not sure. I'm not ecstatic about the bloodthirsty HK-47 droid (what a pun, that name! Also, for some reason, he reminds me of Shale in DA:O), but I needed him for the Sand People quests. Speaking of which - intense Saudi Arabia vibes on Tatooine! The desert has its charms. For now, I've wrapped up most things on both -ooine planets with a bit of travelling back and forth between the two. Took me a while to figure out how to talk to the stowaway girl, but left her in safe hands. I've got a bunck of gizka on my ship... I'm not sure I mind. Pity I can't pick them up, though. XD Any recommendations about where I should head to next? Also, will I have to do that space fight sequence EVERY time I go back to Dantooine?

It's like DAO with the random battles. sometimes you do, sometimes you dont. I would suggest Kashyk next because of a cool compagion there.

The gun-turret minigame - I'd forgotten about that. Very annoying. Not every time, no But roughly one in three times you fly between planets, that will happen!
I recommend going to Kashhyyk next because there you'll find your last party member - and my favourite. Did you take Juhani by the way, or kill her?
Manaan is generally agreed by all to be very annoying and dull. Korriban is wonderful but usually involves some quite hard combat, so it's often left till last. Not always though - any order for the planets is perfectly valid.

Kashyyyk it will be, then. I took Juhani with me! Have been treating her with kid gloves ever since. I'm NOT looking forward to more space fights. Though they do remind me very vividly of ancient Star Wars computer games I used to play with my cousin some... well, actually 20 years ago. D:

It doesn't make you feel like Luke Skywalker, racing to the guns of the Millennium Falcon and shouting with joy as you shoot your first Imperial fighter, finally realising your dreams at the darkest of times?
Me neither. xD

Doesnt help there is no Smuggler character there...or a lizardman...meh.
Also Maaan sucks...omg does it suck so hard. It's like the Fade for DAO but in space...with fish people and politics.

Manaan is generally agreed by all to be very annoying and dull. Man, that lengthy walk on the sea floor... Just when I was thinking of replaying KotOR I, you have to go and remind me of that. MGS2's timed underwater escort mission was less irritating than that was.
