You can make a little money, but that's it. Most ports and cantinas have a paaak guy, but it never comes into any quests I think.
In the second game you'd do well to play it because money is tighter and also it is brought up in the plot and used to win several quests.

I suck at pazaak. I've already lost 80 credits. Quick-saved before the games, but thought it served me right and didn't reload. Ha!

Pazaak is pretty dull, especially at first - you can get more interesting cards later on.
Swoop racing is much better!

Two things: first off, Atton Rand is a master at pazaak.
Second... didn't we learn that swooping is bad? ;D

That sounds dangerous.... :}
Funny thing is, I've tried to stay away from spoilers (and walkthroughs - I've a bad habit of 'cheating' with walkthroughs to get optimal results in games). The downside is that... well, I know my character is Revan. Not any details yet, but I suppose that's the big reveal in the game and I already know it.

Ah. I was hoping you didn't know that yesterday. The revelation is pretty much the highlight of the whole game, yeah. And I think it caught most of us off guard at the time, too.

I've known for a good long while before I started the game, yes.
Still enjoying it, though. The good thing about not knowing any particulars is that I can actually forget it while I'm playing.
So, any more wisdom to share with the noob at this stage? By the way, DOES my character get infected when rakghouls take a swipe at her and the team?

If your health starts glowing green, you're infected! But no, you can't get permanenty infected or turn into a Rakghoul. The game will just end if the Rakghouls mess you up.
I'm not sure what else to say for wisdom..... but when swordfighting, 'flurry' is more reliable and all-round better than 'power attack' or 'critical strike'. You should talk to party members as often as possible because if you miss a conversation opportunity you will be one behind, and there are a lot of conversations to have. When you pick up the second droid character, if you want to know his backstory you will need a very high 'repair' skill, like 27 or so points if I remember right. 'Persuade' comes in handy as well fo several plots and NPC conversations. Remember the Jedi Code! Have a Jedi learn 'destroy droid' because there are a ot of droid enemies in the game. Give Carth a chance, carry a lot of advanced medpacks. And..... that's it for now. ;D

The stims are darn useful as well. the energy shields are crap at first but can save your butt later on and don't count against armour penalties. Do swoop racing for credits. It's the best way to get money. Lightsaber crystals can turn an average weapon into a WMD if combined correctly.
On Korriban it's possible to get through without compromising your morality at all if you are lightside. I won't reveal how though...

I've really got to fire this game up again...

Good advice from Linders there. It is actually possible (not easy but possible) to do everything without compromising the Jedi morality (killing only in self defence, helping people whenever possible, saving souls).

Oh man, here's good advice. When you're trying to save that Duros guy in the Sith execution machine by switching all the buttons - you want to switch them red, not green! I don't know if this is just me but I always automatically hit the green buttons because green is 'safe' in my head, but it's not safe on that machine.
That's good advice right there.

Thanks, Linders! My inventory items still mostly mystify me, to be honest. I don't think I ever even used stims! And Buch - noted as well. Red, safe. I'll store that somewhere in my character's subconscious. What baffles me is that I don't die much - yet. I play at 'difficult'.

Lucky, i got m ass kicked on easy. also for the rancor i just kept spamming grenades and ran back into the tunnel, or you could just poison the dude by putting the poison item in the pile of corpses.
