So all you did was spam the "Kyle Katarn special"?

You think that'd be limited to limp-wristedly tossing a lightsaber? Kyle would mix it up, his first catch of the day being a Stormtrooper he butchered, sprinkled the cauterized remains of his neck where he severed the head, and snorting it like cocaine off a Twi'Lek gal's abdomen. He'd follow it up with a force lightning to an entire Imperial city to where it suffers a possibly permanent blackout while the populace riots in panic and the governor commits suicide, and Kyle struts and dances through the desolate burning, chaotic streets while listening to "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell and the Drells in his com bud.

I go Scoundrel/Consular in KotOR and Consular/Jedi Master in KotOR II. It feels damn nice to just stroll through combat with about a half dozen buffs making me functionally invincible and omnipotent.
I also think Consular works best with the story of KotOR II, what with Kreia tutoring the Exile and being one herself.

Eh? What'd I do wrong this time? Nothing my dear. Except being fairly clear that you had no interest in playing KotOR. The game that got me hooked on Bioware in the first place. Sure it's a Star Wars game, but it's the best damn Star Wars game out there.

I'm sorry for offending you and your love of KotOR, but I sense a little bitterness there, my love... should I beg forgiveness? You know I'm not normally into video games at all, and it's a testament to the awesomeness of the Mass Effect Series and to Skyrim that I like those games...

All right! Haven't played much so far - only about an hour or so yesterday evening. Just started exploring Taris and getting used to the interface. I thought the dated graphics would be distracting, but I have no trouble with them, really. I like the acting so far; to my surprise, while I found Sbarge's performance as Kaidan in ME somewhat off-putting, this is not the same with Carth. Meanwhile, I'm having fun mimicking the aliens' talk. Achoo papanki! (or something) Have opted for a vibroblade instead of a ranged weapon; not sure if it's the best choice, but I haven't died so far! This looks like it's going to be a good ride. More tomorrow! (Or later tonight)

Make sure you save before the Darth Bandon bossfight, too. That one's brutal.

Achoo papanki! (or something) Slemoooo aatoona! Mooley-raa BESS. By the way the vibroblade is smart since you will almost certainly be using a lightsaber for the majority of the game and the two weapon types rely on the same feats and attributes (strength, endurance, flurry, critical strike, etc.) I like to use a blaster just because it's Star Wars and I like them, but that does make the game harder especially on Taris! Calo Nord and Yuthura Ban indeed. You guysssss. Look out for Canderous Ordo and Jolee Bindo - those guys are the best thing ever. ;D

My favorite is "Kaaaajikoo Bala-ming-- something something. Every twilek uses it several time per conversation.
Vibroblade is definitely the way to go. most enemy groups have at least one melee guy and someone needs to screen those guys off of Carth while he blasts away.
