I just thought this would be interesting. I was just watching a YouTube video about how amazing Yoshi's Island is, and I couldn't understand it.
I played Yoshi's Island, about three years ago. I thought it was absolutely horrible. I will never understand why people like it.
So do you have one of these?

The Rainbow Six Vegas games.
They basically took everything good out of the Rainbow Six franchise and turned it into a lame, linear Modern Warfare esque FPS with some minor squad based elements. The story was abysmal, too.

I'll court controversy and also say Morrowind and Fallout: New Vegas. Again. I suspect I'm not justified here - I'm probably just missing something (or just rubbish at games) because all I did in both cases was spend like 5-10 hours wandering around, utterly confused about the setting and plot, dying every time I dared go outside a city and trying to figure out where to find weapons.

I asked you if you needed help with Morrowind, and I guess you never took me up on that offer. To be fair, Morrowind was good but it wasn't "great" without mods. The combat system was abysmal compared to the other games in the series. Not everyone's cup of tea, I guess. As for New Vegas, I thought it was just a way more faithful Fallout game than Fallout 3 was. There are times when I prefer Fallout 3, but most of the time I acknowledge New Vegas as the superior game due to its depth, traditional Fallout morality blur, desert setting, and a better skill and SPECIAL system.

I had that same experience, Mister Buch... I tried playing Morrowind and Fallout: New Vegas on JKLinders' computer, and just could not get into either of them... I might give New Vegas a try again sometime eventually, but Morrowind just confused the hell out of me... and I can't quite figure out why. I just... cound not do it. Now, as for games everyone else loves, I tried Assassin's Creed 2 once or twice and could not get into that either - but I like the story of it, so I don't hate it... I just couldn't play it.

Exactly - 'I couldn't play them' is exactly it. It felt like I was using the wrong controller or playing them upside down or something.
Yoshi's Island, however -- I finished that. And it was garbage.

I tried, I mean really really tried to get into Morrowind. No dice. I don't hate it exactly, I just don't like it. I hate any leveling system that punishes the bejesus out of you for not doing it "exactly right" and I could not care for whatever passed for a story being dished out by the random shirtless guy in Balmora.
The world building was good as was the lore, but it was too much work to play. I prefer to play a game rather than work at it.
I tried Diablo 2 as a demo years ago. I was bored to tears well before the demo area was completed. I don't get the love, I mean seriously.

While I really, really love Morrowind (more so than Oblivion, perhaps - haven't yet played Skyrim), I think I get why you two don't. The last time I tried to replay it I realised just how much time it took to start moving around Vvardenfell with relative ease. The graphics are also quite dated by now, too.

Diablo 3. My friends love it, I just find "meh" to me. Not sure why.
Same goes to ME3 Multiplayer (not counting the SP, jury still out to have a big lunch on steak and mashes at the pub). Some of my mates were always on it all the damn time and even bugged me to join in, but I degress.
Maybe I'm too tired to compete with other players online these days. The magical number of 26 starts to kick in I guess.
On single player games, I don't really like Kingdom Hearts. The combat system was simple and fun, but the story is a little too ceribal in a twisted way. And I'm the type of person that likes twisted story like Rule of the Rose, Deadly Premonition, All the Neil Gaiman stuff, etc. The crazy KH fandom didn't help things either.
And heading to the other side of the controversial side, I couldn't get into Oblivion the first time I've tried it. It reminded me of LotR a bit too much for my liking, but that's not the reason I've stop. I've stop at the time is due to the UI interface was a bit clunky for the PC, hence that's the real reason I've gave up. That was years ago though. While I did try to get back in recently, with some of the mods to help me with the UI problem, I still couldn't get in as much as I've wanted to.

The Halo series. I know CoD gets a lot of crap, but Bungie's been making the same game for 10 years.

Agreed woth that. TBh I just love Halo's storyline. Big fan of humanity's last stand against alien invaders. Morrowind sucked so hard...i mean the first dungeon i crawled i couldnt even use ANY OF MY WEAPONS because they were all ghosts or imps or whatever. I played an orc warrior for crying out loud...might have to re-roll into an argonian mage i guess.
I hate the Fifa games....

I thought of another one of these.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I only played it last year, but I thought it was pretty poor.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Symphony of the Night either. That's probably because I sucked at it, though.
Also, the Sonic games. Every one of them. Just couldn't get into them.

The 2D ones were childhood favourites of mine, but every 3D Sonic game has been a huge pile of rubbish.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was crap, too. It had the gameplay of the classic games, but just enough baggage from the 3D ones to drag it down. (Sonic walks instead of runs and uncurls himself from a ball in midair for some reason.)
