None of us really want to speak of the dark days...

You should have seen us right after DA 2... LOL the dark times that I avoided! Also I'm calling BS on Bioware completely changing the ending. I think they will probably just expand the ending and then give a little epilogue.

Silence. I will continue to hope.

I'd prefer them to expand it / iron out the unexplained bits, rather than change it completely.
But what I expect is a crappy DLC bit to take place during the game, probably involving an extra party member who says very little.

Though I have some hopes the DLC should involve retaking Omega for Aria. Which in retrospect may be a VERY BAD idea, considering everyone on Omega will starve after all the relays blow up. Unless the devs have already thought about it (?!!!?) and give you the (only) choice of inadvertently destroying the station, a la Arrival.

That's a good point.
Ending plot hole count: 169.

Maybe Omega has some sort of hydroponic garden or other way of creating it's own food like the quarians presumably have.
Failing that, Mass Effect fields.

That seems likely. For a deep space mining outpost, especially one not supported by an official government to not be able to produce it's own food would be madness.

Note in Arrival they managed to get a lot of shit from omega to build that metoeor smashing into mass relay thing.

That's a good point. Ending plot hole count: 169. I just play the game. This. Lamenting about video games is fun and all, but nothing compares to the enjoyment of playing a game you like.

Yeah, likewise. I like the game very, very much, and a lot of details can be glossed over with the great wisdom of 'Repeat to yourself it's just a show: you should really just relax'.
But I wouldn't be much of an internet forum moderator if I didn't take an interest in picking apart the game's flaws as well.

This. Lamenting about video games is fun and all, but nothing compares to the enjoyment of playing a game you like. Maybe, but considering the emotional rage the audience had with the game at the end, I've been trying to tell a few of my friends and my nephew to avoid the series, just to save some heartache for them. The last thing I want to see is them dealing the same feelings as I had at the time. Already I've seen my RL friend raging over ME3 in the card game shop... this ain't a pretty sight to see. And, admittedly, I love the game, but it's a shame to see it wasted like this. Hence as a game designer myself, it's so heartbreaking to see a fine game to hit this nasty flaw and the flak from the community.

It's more fun to nitpick. Come on, you know it is.

A lot of people get emotionally invested into the characters of the series and they connect with them, having an ending like ME3...you cant expect people to take it in stride and go 'Thank you sir, may I have another?'. I mean people who fell for Tali like I did and want to have their Shepard to build her a house on Rannoch or Cortez romancers who just had their true romance and barely get a game to enjoy it. Look, i dont mind having a self sacrifice ending but i prefer it to be optional rather then enforced. People dont like to be forced to do things. Bioware was always about choice.
