Methinks you dislike Dumar a little too much, linders. Are you sure you aren't secretly digging him?

I've been given an highly unwanted glimpse into your fantasies Glow.
I am very disturbed.

Wha...
Anyway, I didn't care for Dumar very much, personally. He seemed pretty incompetent, judging by how many times I had to bail him out. I did like his son, though; primarily on account of the "religious" conflict he had going on, and the different ways you could approach the situation. I didn't like how he died, especially since I had tried to do everything in my power to kill Sister Petrice before she did something like that. I was rolling my eyes when someone ended up getting killed over her.

OK... that was... a little creepy.
Honestly, I did have a kicks with the 2nd act. It's not as it seems, except for the end part of the 2nd act, preluding to the 3rd act.

And I'm still vexed at not being able to skip Petrices quests despite the illusion of freedom.

Yeah, I'm still bugged by Petrice's quest and all kinds of shit from her. I could complain more but I'm tired and I have a fucking fever.

I think Glow's argument is now valid in every way possible due to the Hasselhoff factor at work.

I apologize for opening this can of worms again... but...
You know what? This game isn't as bad as I remember it being. It's still got its shitty demons, and it shows, but really it's far more enjoyable than Mass Effect 3.

It is better than it got slagged for. Better than ME 3? Debatable. Big problem with ME 3 was it's first act and final act. OK, Mars was a really cool level, I really can't help but think they sent all their best level designers packing after they put the Mars level together. The middle was great.
The main problem with DA 2 was a sloppy execution. It was far easier than it should have been to see that they were simply using the same caves over and over again due to how sloppy they were with the mini map. The environments in the base game were pretty drab too. The character writing and dialogue however were excellent and rather fun. Snarky Hawke was a hoot to play. Can't help but think that Hawke was destined to have a shitty romantic life though as all the LIs in that game were mentally broken in one way or another. Combat, especially as a rogue was actually really fun, which is good given how much of it you had to wade through.
If they had done a better job of world and area building on this one ( still don't know where all the food for kirkwall was coming from, Rome could be fed on it's population of over a million on dark ages farming only by grain tribute from Egypt, nitpick to be sure but it still bugs the shit out of me) and rewrote the main story to allow for all the shit to go down in Kirkwall without literally everyone involved (Chantry, Nobles and mages all fucking three groups) being pants on head stupid it would have been awesome.

It's not as good as Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 had better backstories and world-building... And honestly the more I look at the ending, the less I utterly despise it. The after effects of whatever choice you made shouldn't have taken massive feedback to generate, and I would have loved an individual report on what each character ends up doing, but the story does explain the reapers and why they exist. Fewer retcons (I'm looking at you, Rachni Queen) and a bit more time on development (nothing but an e-mail about side characters, really?), and it would have been outstanding.
Not so for Dragon Age 2. It offered very little in addition to origins (mages' lives suck, duh), and the "conclusion" offered no story tidbits at all. "And that's it" said Varric. "Well, darn" said Cassandra.
They tied things in neatly in Inquisition, but only because people asked questions about 2.

Rachni Queen still pisses me off from ME. Seriously they should have torn a page from CDProjekt Red and said if you make this choice then you lose this outcome. One of the most brilliant things about The Witcher 2 is that they had the balls to lock away a full quarter of the game's content behind one choice. kill teh Rachni Queen, you don't get your mission with Grunt. Also no Rachni in the main game.
