Crap. Think positive thoughts, this isn't the "Crappy moments in DA2" thread...
Uh... I like eggs. No... that's not right.

Well I am enjoying playing troll Hawke right now. I kinda want a mod to replace the comedy mask icon in the dialogue wheel with Trollface. The only times I am not taking the humour dialogues is when it is truly inappropriate. But he still trolling.

C'mon people, try to give the game a fair chance!
Believe it or not, I'm actually warming to Fenris a little now that I'm doing his sidequests. "A Bitter Pill" was really fun, with a nice twist on the standard moral dilemma we see so often in games (being able to ask Fenris what to do and have him get the information and his revenge was a bit of a copout.)
Or maybe I'm just being distracted by his voice. Who knows?

Varric in general. Love that guy.
Despite my frequent monkeyshines against Anders, I still kind of like him as a character. He could have been developed a bit more, but the concept of a freedom fighting mage is still pretty fresh, at least to me. Not sure if there are any other magical John Browns in literature or video games.

Or did you simply wait for him to log in and then stuff him into a broom closet? I swear if you try to do the same to me you'll be finding out first hand how high up the second floor truly is.

Varric...just Varric. Pfff...maybe more intimate love scenes, but honestly Wither II took the f-ing cake (get it) on that one.

Why couldn't Anders magick off all his clothes before jumping into the Darktown sewer water? One thing I did like is how, if Hawke was knocked out in combat, party members would shout at him or her to stay alive. As opposed to KotOR or Origins, where your party members wouldn't react at all to you being almost killed. Some of the Dragon Age 2 party members do take it too far (I think Anders or possibly Fenris shouts "NO, I won't allow this!"), but some pulled it off quite well. I always found Varric telling Hawke he was going to get them out of it quite heartwarming.

As opposed to KotOR or Origins, where your party members wouldn't react at all to you being almost killed. I seem to remember the Star Fox team reacting pretty noticeably when Fox died. Where's their recognition?! On the topic of Fenris: he was actually my favorite party member, even though when Gaider mentioned that he had taken some inspiration from Twilight, that character was the result. I liked the tortured slave/road of revenge backstory he had going on, and that Hawke could pretty much kick him farther down it or derail him. This was until I played a female mage and romanced him, and saw that, none of his dialogue changes regardless of all the magic you throw around to help him out. Similarly, Anders went out of his way to tell me that I knew nothing of what mages were going through. Guess everyone just thought that staff was for show! Good with the bad. I will say I liked pretty much everything about Aveline, even her slightly-overdone romance quests.

Where's their recognition?! In my defence, Star Fox is a bit before my time, so I haven't really played any of them. I always got the impression that Anders had more inspiration from Twilight than Fenris, what with him constantly saying he didn't want to hurt Hawke, then going ahead and hurting her in spades. But then, I haven't done Fenris' romance yet. And the fact that she can throw Hawke to the ground and repeatedly punch them at the end of her rivalry path. I felt Hawke could've stood to have that happen a few more times throughout the game. Might've helped them stop being one of the smuggest characters in all of gaming.

Either way, any inspiration from twilight is full of bad news to me. That's one of the primary reasons why I could not warm up to either, ruining one part of the game to me.
I might enjoy this game more if the male LI are more well rounded and less angsty. Oh and when Anders had a decent VO in the likes of Liam Neeson sounding, rather than the nasal whiny sounding VO we had atm.
Sorry, apart from troll!Hawke, All that remains ending, that Aveline quest and a few other snarky remarks from Varric; there's not much with this game I liked. Especially with the whole Twilight inspiration... it hits too close to home for me in terms of my ex. The last thng I need is to romance two flavours of my exes. I want escapism damn it!

He's almost like Edward Cullen in every element, except the sparky vampire bit.
Now Anders.... he's just like my ex!
