And I thought of another one. This tradition of putting 'ess' at the end of job titles when the job is being done by a woman. 'Manageress', 'Stewardess', 'Actress'. That's an actor, who happens to be female. We don't need a new word just so that everyone knows she's not a man. Yeah tell me about it, the ess sounded like 'princess' prissy sounding. I'll go berserk if someone puts my tittle as a 'game designeress'. As if the games industry is is already have a hard time acquiring, don't need to be differnated by men. Really? I actually prefer the "-ess" suffix. Only in places where it is traditional, though (such as waitress, actress, etc). Adding it to every title would sound daft, I'll admit. My gripe for the day is, once again, my dad. This time, he's managed to lose my birth certificate. Now I get to drive 200 miles to the town I was born to buy a new one. You'd think that after 20 years of losing vitally important documents, he'd have learned to file things properly. Apparently not.

This rant is tame this time:
Everytime I've said "I'm going to take a breake from this game." Then something good comes out and makes me want to play it again!
eg: the recent news for the DLC for ME1. Damn you BioWare! Now I have to redo my Main Shepard all over again! >.<

Yeah I dislike the 'ess' suffix - it's a political thing rather than a words thing. (My vocabulary is a bit lazy today...) I think the need to clarify that one is female in the description is uncessary and therefore exists because of sexism. An actor is someone who acts. But an actress is someone who acts... and is female. I think there's no need to specify - in a job title, espescially. I guess it's okay for... a lioness. There the gender might be important. But even then - it's the way the word is constructed that makes me nervous.
This is a lion. And here's a lioness - a sub-form of lion. Like a lion-lite or something. The extra bit makes the female sound like an afterthought - an addition to the male.

Todays rant for me is the "Draco leather pants" factor. I don't fucking get it. What's with women having a romantic appeal on men being a jerkass? Ok, I don't mind someone who is kinda rebelious and bit of a snarker once in a while just to pull out a 3 diamentional character BUT, I see women shooning over asshats like Bishop (NWN2 not the guy from Aliens) and Edward from twilight. Either they into some disturbing 'role play' with leathers and whips or just plain nuts. I don't see the appeal to guys like that, I just don't get it. As soon I see a man with those traits, the sooner I'll budgeon him with my guitar. I don't need another jerk in my life. That made me laugh so hard because its all true. It reminds me of High school when all the girls liked the group of guys that treated everybody likes granulated horse manure. I never understood that. Why do women like men that treat them bad? Just ignore them until they go away or sign a restraining order. Mr Buch your ranting is making me think I love you right now... anywho... they do something weird in Spanish that reminds me of the "ess" thing. If their is a group of people and they are female they are Les but if a single one is male even if there is 1 million people in the group you have to switch to masculine. Why? Why?! It made no sense to me when I was 10 and it still makes no sense at 22. Why can they not just be 'People' without a male or female thingy at the beginning.

Brooding mothers that pester you to give them a grandson and then spend every waking moment convinced you are pregnant and scaring the crap out of you. *Sigh*

Final Fantasy series after number 7. That's where the craziness begins. Starting from number 8 where the main protagonist is glorfied as a celebrated "Draco in leather pants" guy. Not only that's where the magic fades away but it's the best example why I hate the "draco in leather pants" effect. As I've said before and I'm going to say it again, I find it disturbing to see women falling for a jerk. They expected to make them soft and a change of heart. I'm sorry but men are stubborn as a bull. They refused to change or be flexible. The only thing you get out of it is a counseling session appointment. I know there are men in this forums but that's from my personal experience after my last relationship with my ex. I've learnt the hard about the part of them refusing to change for the better. Oh yeah here's a nasty rant: My ex. After he got dumped or dumping other women for like 5 times, he's still fucking clueless on why women get pissed off so easily. He's a immature brat with a streak of "Draco in leather pants", who is blinded sighted by his own faults, even his friends calls him a twat behind his back. Also he's a cheating git. That's how the relationship has ended. On Christmas day. He found his current girlfriend on WoW. Very tactful there, twat. Sorry for the profanity, but the wound is slow to heal. I still have raging moments about him and his new girlfriend, but what can you do, they are far away from me now, all I can do is froth my rage in a imaginary space from time to time.

Yeah. Christmas Day. I'm not kidding even though I wish I was.
I guess it's my fault I've spend time on my studies more than hanging out with him but still he just ran off with some chick without saying the last goodbyes. I did warn him about me being busy with Uni last year due to the fact I was on the probation list under the watchful eye of the administrators. Didn't helped the fact before that our relationship is strained enough with him being negectlful enough he can't remember my own birthday and I do remember his... also when I've vent my fustration about him being negectful, he called me overly-sensitive.
Guess since that happened, things were never the same for me; and my studies in uni this semester has dropped significantly in my performace enough that I have to bail out. And since he found her on WoW, I've canceled my account because I don't want something that reminds me of the void.
After this I've decided not to commit myself into another relationship... since after a lot of thinking I've highly doubt I'll womenly enough to hold onto a relationship longer concidering I have plans that maybe someday I work aboard outside of Australia if I can get graduated. I don't think any guy would allow me to wander freely around the world.
Anyways, I'm sorry I've vent about this. I was feeling blue a lot this year. Cannot be helped.

That sounds absolutely awful. Especially the WoW part. If it's gotten to you so much that it's hurting your studies, then perhaps the thing to do is to take some time off and recuperate, then come back with guns blazing.
And don't wory about the future. If you're a good person - which you clearly are - you'll end up with someone good, wherever you travel. In my vast experience of the single life - I've learned that things are never as bad you think.

And today's pet hate is...
uhm... I may be running out.
Oh no, wait. Protection missions on video games. No-one has ever enjoyed a protection mission, but they just keep coming. Obligatory stealth sections too.

*Hugs for Tillian*
If it helps I went through something similar a few years back. I was with a guy for over a year and I tried convincing myself he wasn't an arrogant swine but he was. Women kept telling me he'd been trying it on with them and I thought it was just them being jealous then I found out he'd been sleeping with pretty much all of my friends which completely ruined my friendships and my relationship. Then months after we'd broken up he kept chasing me telling me he missed me and he knew what a wanker he was until I finally just gave in. Couple of months in he slept with another one of my friends then hooked up with a girl he met on the internet who went around telling people at my college I 'raped' her 'with a spoon' amongst other things. Thats when I got real confused and started asking him questions but got no answers until the recent friend he'd been sleeping with came along feeling guilty and told me everything. Thats when I confronted him and he told me he was leaving me for the girl from the internet who was 14. So not only was he a cheating bastard but a pedophile to... I spent two months thinking that I was giving up men for good until my hubby came along out of the blue and he's the complete opposite of Mr wanker. So although things look bleak after a bad relationship a good one is always around the corner. You just got to let yourself gt caught. lol

We'll see, we'll see. Can't promise anything, but i'll try to be more open about it. I'm still a cynical bitchface though atm, so it would take quite a while till i'll be able to lossen up and settle down with a nice guy.

Todays Pet peeve is... Well there's a few:
Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series. I know I've bitched too much about those books but last night when I was taking a bus home from Uni after I've did my paperwork to take a hike from Uni for 6 months I saw this girl reading Breaking Dawn on the bus. For some reason I have recurring disturbing image of her face expressing the horror in the gory cecarian section bit. It's just shits me to see such imaginary images. Ugh! I need brain Bleach after this
The BioWare and Mythic Merger (see The Gaming Gods are Crazy thread)
Imagine FX. Where's that mag? I couldn't find it in borders and all. WTF? Where's the this month issue damn it!
My Stomach. I must be getting old. It could not handle the intensity of chilies as it used to be...

The BioWare and Mythic Merger (see The Gaming Gods are Crazy thread) You'll see my reaction in that thread as well.... Also staying up longer then you wanted too. I can't help it but it annoys me. I should have gone to sleep an hour ago but I'm still up and I'll probally be up for another hour....

Pet peeves: Vietnamese stuck ups.
Being a Vietnamese myself, I've have to live in a close tight knit community for over 2 decades now and I've seen the best and the worse of the bunch. The worse ones are like sooo arogant that it me feel compel to yell at them to pull the catus our of their asses.

I thought of one!!!
People who tell Guitar Hero/Rock Band players to learn to play the REAL guitar (I do anyway). It's like telling someone that plays Grand Theft Auto to go and kill real hookers.
Edit: Two, actually.
My second gripe is people that quote famous works of fiction without understanding them. Both my examples come from "Romeo and Juliet". The first "Star-cross'd lovers" - people think that it is a really romantic phrase when it actually means "ill fated". The other one; "Wherefore art thou Romeo?". Most people incorrectly translate it to mean "Where are you, Romeo?" when it really means "Why are you Romeo", referring to his name. BAH.

I have a couple in the past week or so.
As I've said before, lemon fics, failed research into your own writing and kiddy skill writing.
That bloody wind that flew around Melbourne a few days ago. I swore it almost knocked me over!!!
Spoony Experiment closed down... I hope it's tempoary
My Mac. Her fan died so I had to shut it down before it got fried. Now I have to send her in to repair the fan and get a bigger Hard drive.
That's about it and also yeah I agree with you on guitar hero Rascarin. I had to remind my fellow music shopkeeps about Guitar Hero is game and you should not lump it with real music. >.<
