I heard a doctor talking about the medi-gel sabotage, then I wandered around, fixing them, then some guy with a gun assaulted me, then Conrad Verner showed up, jumped in front of the bullet, wasn't actually shot because of Jenna, then they both disappeared, and I didn't see them again for the remainder of the game.
I really had no idea what was going on.

I had that same issue as well. If you talked to Conrad before handing in the quest to the doctor in the refugee section, the details are much more clearer.
Although the real kicker to this quest is (Dr.) Conrad Verner is a war asset. A minor one but still an asset and he wrote a thesis that involves with dark energy and has connections. Yeah, what a shocker. A loony fan that has a doctorate the whole time. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.
Then again I'm a academic and I'm (used to be) a big fan of ME.

It's only 1 War Asset though. I mean Jessica Chobot has 5! Dude's useless!

Okay...i raise you that with infidelity. Last i recall Conrad had a wife/girlfriend who he had on Earth who made the N7 armour for him when you meet him on Illium...and he is jumping this woman's bones and tries to come on to her with saying how he and shepard go way back.

Dantanius sorry to say but the Tali pic is old news and it's not that special once you find out its just a photoshop of a stock image.

My other complaint about the picture is that they did a bad photoshop manipulation. Just look at the hand. It doesn't seemed right, looks like someone quickly used a stamp tool to cut out a big chunk of the hand. They could have gone the digital painting route or something. Or at least use Photoshop properly.

Or at least use Photoshop properly. Or, y'know, just shown the face through the game, instead of on some photoshopped image on a datapad. Because the whole impetus behind getting the photo in the first place is just silly, as this comic illustrates quite hilariously.Though, in a perverse way, I'm kinda glad that Tali's face looks like that for a reason related to some rather... *ahem* vocal haters of my own fanfic on the TVTropes forums who called my description of Tali without a mask 'masturbatory material'. Since it was actually relatively close to the way it actually looks in the game, that might force them to re-evaluate their stance on that particular moment. Still, I wish they hadn't given it to us in some photoshopped photo. I wanna see her face in-game, dagnabbit!

Revealing her face was stupid.
Using a bad photoshop of a stock image was lazy.
this combined with the lazy, ineptly written ending makes me wonder what the fuck was happening in there during crunch time. Spielberg got away with factual inaccuracies at the end of Jaws regarding exploding oxygen tanks...because he was fucking Spielberg. Bioware are not Spielberg and should really look at the gaping plot holes they left behind by making one of the stupidest narrative moves possible. Introducing a completely new vital character in the last 5 minutes.
They ran out of money and time. That's what I'm thinking. Everything they have said since basically says that without saying it.
Sorry for the rant, but it is what it is. Running out of money and being afraid to admit it is the only explanation that makes any sense with all this cheap crap they pulled.

Honestly I could not stand the way that video was edited and the way that guy talked. Stopped the video after about 5 mins as the way the editing made his head twitch and never showing him take a breath was giving me a headache. Plus he added nothing that had not already been repeated up top that point.
