I don't think it's genuine, surely Bioware will be saving the big reveal for Mass Effect 3 or just leaving what the quarians look like up to our imaginations. She certainly looks nothing like how I imagined at any rate, far too human, she even has hair and everything.

I don't think it's real, either - same reasons, plus I don't think Bioware would make her so creepy-looking. Either way that picture is pure nightmare fuel! You think she's hairless, Glow?

to answer you question, it is fan art I first saw on the bioware forums. I doubt it fits what bioware thinks a quarian looks like. I leave to you to decide whether it should be what Tali looks like. This I do know for sure. Bioware would be nuts to actually show her face. Reason is there will be a lot of very angry talimancers no matter what they do. Firebombs galore ;D I think it likely they shave any hair off, for sanitation. Hair is not exactly the cleanest substance and would make any time out suit more potentially unhealthy.

Wow I actually have that same picture saved on my computer cause I think it looks cool. The only thing different from the one I have and this one is that the eyes aren't white at all and a like blue greenish. It look better then this one and not creepy And no it's not real it's fan art.

If very good fan art!
Linders - very good point about the hair. I guess she has no hair! No-one has hair in Mass Effect. Hair is out.

Now that you mention Buch, you're right. only humans have hair in ME. I guess every other race is non mammalian or something. That may be a problem with fan art. You want the object of your fandom to be attractive. Hair is attractive(if it is not mine, need to hit it with a weed whacker right now to get it in line ;D ) so you add it. Human hair in ME especially in ME1 looks like a plastic overlay more than hair. Kind of like 80's hairspray overload with none of the height . I have to say that they improved that in ME 2 aside from the recurring female characters who all have the same helmet stiff hairstyle.

Nah, that's someone's fanart. She looks too human. Remember what Grunt said about Quarian skin

I remember him saying that the other races like humans and asari were squishy. Quarians were tougher and that with turians you had to work the knife a bit. Being of somewhat similar physiology(dextro amino acid based) the quarians could very well have scales similar to turians.

I must be the only Mass Effect fanatic who doesn't have a massive boner for Tali. She's not even that interesting of a character. She's like the valley girl of the group. I'm always expecting her to say something like "Like, oh my gawd Shepard, on the flotilla we like totally don't do that. So groady!"
Liara kind of let me down quoting her mother word for word in ME2. And Jack just gets on my nerves. Miranda is alright I guess. Okay back on topic.
That is a pretty good fan art picture. I really doubt, and hope she doesn't actually look like that. Part of me hopes she's really hideous to piss of the really hardcore talimancers.

I like Tali! Out of the female love interests in ME2, she's easily my favourite. But - I was very disappointed by every love story in ME2. Quality over quantity, Bioware. In fact Bioware would do well to remember that, just in general.
I hear you about Liara letting you down.

I've never been a fan or romantic subplot in video games but ME2's were especially bad. Hell at least the ones in GTA:SA were kind of funny. These were just awkward and clumsy.

I've said it a million times, you're probably all sick of it. Nonetheless-
Bioware got their romance plots spot-on perfect in 'Knights of the Old Republic'. There were just two (I don't count Juhani because it was so small and hidden) and both of them were great, long, nicely paced and improved the main character and game plot very nicely. If you were dark side and romanced Carth, you got a special (awesomely heartbreaking) ending. If you were lightside and romanced Bastila, you could use that detail to save the galaxy in the place of good persuasion score and dialogue choices. It just worked so well, and always felt like part of the story, not just an added extra.
'Jade Empire', to my mind, is where the romance started to go wrong. Rather than flesh out the two main options, Bioware put its effort into quantity, giving us three. And while I really really appeciate that homosexual romance is possible (if somewhat less available and with no kissing), all three romances were cliche and predictable.
'Mass Effect' had three again, but this time I liked them all. The characters in that game were very well-acted and believable, and it came close to the experience of KotOR. But... not quite.
'Dragon Age' was just like Jade Empire, I think. Lots of options, none of them really that good, and they only impact the plot negatively (like Alistair bloody dumping me for making him king.) Again it's great that they included lesbian and gay romances, which are just as good as the straight ones. it's wonderful that you can have a bearded male dwarf kissing a Spanish elf if you wish. But... I still prefer two good stories to six rushed ones.
'Mass Effect 2' Oh bugger off. The game was amazing, but the romance should just have been left out, I think. You can sleep with everyone, including your secretary - Shepard is just that sexy. But aside from maybe Garrus, none of the romance plots are very interesting, or have anything to do with anything. And any romance at all creates plot problems if you played the first game.
And that concludes the lecture for today. (It is possible that I have rose-coloured KotOR glasses.)
