If someone gave Joker the LI option in ME3, then I'm done.... in a good way. However that means I have to make a new Shepard from scratch all the way from ME1 again. D:
Although... I have the PC version, so...
*ahem* About the BioWare forums, not all is bad. Surprisingly the Garrus Thread were really tame compared to the Kaidan Thread. I know considering the Garrus/Shepard shipping fics are the majority of the ff.net library. I've tend to lurk there to pick up useful turian mass guessing lore, helps with my current fan fic I'm working that is just posted in ff.net recently.
I know... it's another Garrus/Shepard fic, in his perspective. I'll won't be posting the fic here till my other crack fic is done because... well I don't want anyone in here thinks I'm ol' softy in a girly girly kind of a way. Funny enough I'm much more comfortable posting crack fics than shipping fics...

I'm with you in the "don't want to appear as girly girly" (just yet) boat. Ship.
I was (pleasantly) surprised that Garrus got so much love from the fans. I think he's more popular than Kaidan, right? It's a testament to his character writer that they can make an alien so palatable to the masses. I like him a lot, but...his romance scene fell flat for me. Maybe it was the awkward advances, maybe I have a psychological block against being one of many fangirls. Joker has a small but militant following.

Both you and me. I'm too afraid to let my girly side taking over me atm.
I'm with you in the Joker militant part. I'll be quickly dumping Kaidan in ME3 if Joker is a viable option.
No offense, I like Kaidan but my liking meter has been dimished since ME2. Mostly due to the facist fangirls over in the Kaidan Forums at BioWare.
As for Garrus' romance, I hear ya. That's why I've been writing a Garrus shipping fic lately, trying to deconstruct and recontruct the romance, since there a couple of things that kinda still make me questioned.
Also I'm slightly bemused at the fangirls going batshit insane with that turian guy. Apart from good writing, I've blame the VO to contribute to his appeal. Same goes to Kaidan. He's bit of a black sheep due to his VO reminded some of the fan bitterly about Carth from KoTOR 1.

W00. The more writers fangirls the better...the more likely BioWare will hear us! Maybe.
I always felt "meh" around Kaiden. He just...bores me to tears. I only romanced him once by accident. XD I have been wanting to write something about him and Joker as friends/rivals, just haven't gotten to it.
Hmm, "deconstruct", sounds interesting. I presume there are less calibrations involved? lol
Also, we both seem to be on an editing-our-posts fest so I hope you get this. lol My girly side has come out sooo much more because of this fandom it's kindof ridiculous. I never wrote pairings for Star Wars--I was a hack-and-slash kind of girl. Now I'm one of those shippers who has lists of "reasons why it would work." Noooo.....

Yeah, in some of the later chapters, I've decided to take the piss out of the calibration dialogue. xD
Speaking bashing Kaidan, I've lament in ME1 that I don't have the option to romance Ashley as a fem Shepard at the time. I prefer Ash's personality over Kaidan. Say what you will about her racist attitdue but her bumpkin marine attitude and those poetry interest appealed to me a lot more. short story... she's much more colourful than Kaidan. Kaidan is a little too wishy washy for my liking.
At least I got Garrus in ME2... that's good enough for me. xD
Edit: Lol yeah we edit at the same time. ha! Yeah, I've grew up watching action movies... not soaps with my mum. You can see why I'm really shy when it comes to shipping fics. Normally I don't write this sort of thing but... ME fandom does make me override my usual tomboyish common sense.

lol! Sounds good. Link?
The poetry bit did make Ashley very endearing. Her xenophobia didn't bother me much--I saw it as a facet of her character, and one my Shep would try to talk her out of. I like that they had a conversation about religion.
Wishy-washy, exactly. For all his killer biotics he comes off as...kinda soft.

Well... I can post it up here but I've only done chapter 1 atm. The calibrations part is in the later chapters and 2nd chapter that I'm working on atm. Thinking about it, I'll probably add that dialogue in 2nd, showing where Garrus got the dialogue from.
Yeah, exactly! I thought the xenophobia as part of her upbringing and I'm not too bother too much since she does have standards. Although since in my Shepard version I've let Ash live and she's romancing Garrus... man I love to see her reaction in ME3. Remember that dialogue in ME1?
Ash - If you ask me to kiss a turian, I'd ask which cheek.
Shepard - I don't think kissing turians are necessary
Ash - You never know Commander.
Depending on which school of thought, soft might be an understatement. Especially the Liara and Kaidan love triangle confrontation...

I agree with you both about Ashley. Good character, and I loved the brief talk about God. It's great to see a futuristic space opera address that issue.
But poor Kaidan! I liked that guy - though maybe Liara remains my favourite.

I thought it was really cool that Shepard could give a whole variety of answers about whether s/he believed in God or not.
Re: kissing turians: LOL I do remember that conversation! I do hope they reference it later.
I was immensely amused that Joker interrupts both romance scenes with Kaiden. (With the other LIs too, I presume.) I'll just mark that down as a score for my team. lol He was my favourite even in ME1. ME2 gave us more LIs to choose from, which was nice.

Oh yeah, that with joker. Good old Joker.
Since I've still kept a save file with Shepard being faithful to Kaidan, I want an option to go tsundere on him in ME3. Seriously, he just left her alone with those psychotic thugs and a dangerous mission that could send Shepard back to hell again. If the reunion only involves more flowers and candy... I'm done. I'm going to dump him immediately with that renegade option in ME3.

I thought it was really cool that Shepard could give a whole variety of answers about whether s/he believed in God or not. Yes I liked that too. 'You know the old saying - you'll never find an atheist in a foxhole? Well I've been in a lot of foxholes.' I would have prepared a more bold declaration of faith that that - you know. But my response was always, 'Everyone's allowed to believe whatever they want - says so in the Alliance regs. Only, fancier words.' Much more my feelings ;D

Depending how I RP, usually I've picked "You know that old saying? There's no atheist in a foxhole? Well I've been in a lot of foxholes." if I'm playing as a colonist, concidering it could be worse if the Alliance patrol hasn't shown up or Shepard did actually get draged away to be a used a slave.
Btw, if you don't know how shitty it is to live a life as a slave in the ME universe, I dare you to play as a colonist in ME1 and do the "I remember me" quest...

True about the slave thing in I remember me. Remember also that the girl was taken by Batarians who have a particular hatred for humans. These slave raids are not to get property but to punish a race they claim have wronged them. Also great propaganda against the human colonial projects,"Watch what colony you go to or you might end up like her". Somehow I think gun control does not exist on a human colony near the Terminus for these reasons.

Mostly due to the facist fangirls over in the Kaidan Forums at BioWare. XD So true. I'm with you about dumping Kaidan for Joker. Not to sound like a militant Joker follower. What really surprises me that there's really no interest it seems for Jacob at all. Anywhere.

What really surprises me that there's really no interest it seems for Jacob at all. Anywhere. I think it's due to the narmtasic lines for Jacob's romance. Also this is what I like about this forum, no one to call me out if I babble like a 3 year old or anyone to shove their opinions down my throat... ;D
