I loved FEAR. It really made me jump several times. Particularly the bit where you turn around to grip a ladder and the little girl appears right in front of you, at the top of the ladder. I actually fell off and lost health. I had a good laugh afterwards.
Never played the sequel though.

If you like FEAR then you'll enjoyed the sequel. I've heard it's much more disturbing and I'll won't spoil you the ending, you'll have to see it for yourself.

RoboTech BattleCry is for the Xbox, GameCube and PS2. I had it for GameCube. It was a Anime at first and there were several different TV series on it and I think several other games. I never saw any of the shows or played any of the other games though. It was a pretty fun game, I played it alot when I first got it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.html?curid=1426561 Theres the wikipedia page on it. Also when Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon was metioned I wen't to look it up and I found a trailer this movie called Goemon www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_BzNsDvpRYEven though I dont understand what they are saying I want to see this.

In terms of weird, Katamari Damacy and Warioware hardly had to try.
But I think the one game that just kinda blew my mind was Portal. It was one of those games where I reacted in the same way a caveman might have reacted to seeing fire for the first time.
Now you're thinking with Portals. xD

That Goemon movie looks kind of stupid but fun. I was really hoping it would be based on the games, though. Sigh.
I really, really want to play this Portal I have heard so, so much about. But I have no cash. I'm working to pay off an overdraft now, but when I have a bit of money behind me the Portal download will be the first (or second) thing I buy.

Right now I'm playing the classic 'Altered Beast' for Sega Mega Drive (Genesis?). My character is a ressurected, near-naked muscle-man who can transform into a werewolf, a tiger, an electric dragon and a bear who struts on two legs and turns thigns to stone. Right now I'm getting beaten up by unicorns in an effort to rescue Zeus' daughter from a floating head.
This game is really hard too. I don't think she's getting rescued today.

That's game writing at it's finest, Buch. I'm pretty sure the writers at BioWare are pretty envious at the Lead Writer of "Altered Beast". I can see that "certain" writer gripping his fist into a tight ball as we speak. Still, getting kicked in the teeth by unicorns despite the fact you have all these superpowers just baffles me in the logic and narrative wise. I mean really unicorns. That's just trippy. What's next? The reaper ship in ME2 looked like a unicorn? Well, someone must have taken too many pixie sticks. On an off topic, did you noticed that games nowdays are less difficult than the old games like Ninja Gaiden, Alter Beast, etc, etc? Just something to ponder...

In my defence, these unicorns seem to be able to jump very high and perform martial arts. Also they move faster than my guy's reaction speed. I really can't get past this level! On an off topic, did you noticed that games nowdays are less difficult than the old games like Ninja Gaiden, Alter Beast, etc, etc? Just something to ponder... Yes actually this has been on my mind lately. My Xbox has been broken for a month or so so I have been playing old games. I can see a difficulty arc - the older the game, the harder it is. I can finish my Nintendo 64 games with some difficulty, but forget about Super NES and Mega Drive. And arcade games are justa matter of how long you can survive. Winning is out of the question. I'm not exactly great at video games anway, but I just keep getting beaten up over here! Espescially Capcom. Have you ever noticed that Capcom games are near-impossible? Street Fighter, Mega Man, Resident Evil and even Dead Rising are all way too hard for me. But I make the effort and beat Street Fighter, just so long as I can be Ryu.

Nah, not mocking you about the unicorn thing, I just like to put sarcasm there with the storyline. Especially I recalled one of the developers are adding a "lazor unicorns in ME2". I was only joking I did watch Alter Beast on Screwattack.com, I understand what you mean by black belt unicorns, god they kinda like Charlie the Unicorn gone all berserk. It's not the skills that kept you completing old games but that's how games are used to be designed. Back then the market targeted hardcore, skilled gamers due to them being a large audience. So they had to make their games with high difficulty. Today, there are more casual or busy gamers as the audiences, so the today developers had to tone down the difficulty and the length of the game. That's why you can beat the contemporary games without a sweat. There's an old article that discuss and debated about this a while ago. if you want I'll find the link and give it to you. Yes, Capcom games are damn hard. I fail Megaman epically back when I was in secondary school. When I mean fail I mean my megaman crashed and burned. I've played SFII back then, I had to work my skills to finish the game. I haven't played SFIV yet but I suspected it will be hard, hopefully harder than SCIV. And don't get me started on Shinobi... I can't finish that game. My excuse was how can a 6 year old retard can beat that game...

Oh I knew you weren't mocking me - no worries. I've got the Mega Man on my Xbox now any it too is unbelievably hard. But in a fun way. There's a fine line between so hard you love the challenge and so hard you break the TV and Capcom has been known to jump back and forth across that line.

That's true with Capcom in the old games. Not sure about the their comtempory ones, especially with the RE series, although the RE series are linear enough to be a wallbanging fest.
There's another company i recalled that has same difficulty except unlike capcom who tends to skirt around the game difficulty, this company, known as Tecmo, prefers to stay still as a big, dumb rock when it comes to difficulty. The ninja Gaiden series comes to mind and that proberly the reason why I'm not going to try that game for a while. It's one of those games that you feel compel to throw a xbox controller to the TV screen.

I'm gonna go ahead and throw Earthbound out there as well. An amazing game and one of the best for the SNES, but man did that give me the freak-outs. =O

I haven't seen the Earthbound series (or in Japan, they call it Mother 3) since it never made it to the Aussie shores like most wacky Japanese games. There are a couple of games that sprung to my mind recently that is dated back to my childhood but this one sticks to my mind. It's called "Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars" Second game to "The Miracle World". I'm ashamed to say it I've managed to beat "The lost Stars" while I failed terribly at "Miracle World". I have to say I retract my announcement about Beautiful Katamari. Katamari is not even close to the plain weirdness and creepiness in "The Lost Stars" here's a youtube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyP_7JNcc8IThe game plot is simple. The constellation stars are stolen and placed inside of these weird worlds that was filled with puppies who tried to killed you their magical barks, some guys in marks, nude babies, a pissed off supernova, singing teddy bears, vengeful walking cards and other bright, odd balls are trying to stop you from reclaiming the stars and placing them back into the right position in the galaxy. While we're there, you'll see this protagonist constantly screaming like a psychotic every time you get hit and I mean a little demented kid screaming. I can't believe I've used to own that game...

Don't know about trippy, but this game is very creepy. It just scared the hell out of me, but I'm proud to say I stuck in there until the end. Anyone played this? You're in a hotel and you have to solve some (very simple) puzzles while not wetting yourself (not as simple). Also it apparently has some vague connection to Doritos. Is this what happens when you eat too many doritos? Anyway it was wierd, and fun. It's scarier and more immersive if you have a webcam and / or a microphone. www.hotel626.com
