Mandalorians--
1) Coolest possible armour 2) Associated with Boba Fett, stormtroopers and Canderous Ordo 3) Derogatory term 'Mandies' is actually adorable and it would be nice to be called that 4) No endless lightsabers, angst, sins of the father nonsense
I believe in Mandalorians.

I cringe at any restrictive rule, especially from a civilization built on fighting. I'll be on Coruscant filing paperwork.

Actually the Mandalorian society is based on the ancient Celts rather than the Vikings. And while they are most well-known for their fighting prowess, there's a lot more to the Mandalorians than most realize. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/MandalorianETA: I'm also quite partial to how accepting the Mandalorians are of people once their respect is earned. They're much like Klingons in that if you're honorable and good in a fight, they're mostly pretty chill despite how boisterous they can be.

Soooo...we're not talking about the Canderous Ordo lot then, era wise? They didnt seem to be the chill sort.

I like how they are an open club to anyone as long as you respect their house rules and have the skill to be a member in the first place. They are a pure meritocracy and that on it's own is not a bad thing. Where it falls apart is just about any time they interact with people who are not in their club. Put 'em in a bubble and they are fine, don't invite them to a party with outsiders though unless your dishes are very hard to break.

Soooo...we're not talking about the Canderous Ordo lot then, era wise? They didnt seem to be the chill sort. Actually Canderous Ordo's lot were pretty chilled out with The Exile in KOTOR II as they respected the Exile's abilities in battle and as a leader. That said, you really don't want to be their enemies. A joke I came up with. A Mandalorian walks into a bar, takes off her helmet, and orders a drink. While she's waiting, she looks around and starts taking off her jewelery. All the patrons run away or duck. ETA: I'm going to explain the joke so it won't be very funny (not that it was unless you know Mando culture), but jewelery is a rarity in Mandalorian society and if a Mandalorian starts taking it off, it's a prelude to some serious violence. And with regard to Mandalorian culture on a basic level, there's this from Wookiepedia. "In addition to the general misconception that all Mandalorians were mercenaries, Mandalorians were also considerably more sociable than many would expect. As long as individuals spoke their mind and said what they meant, accepted a meal when offered—as an offered meal was a great compliment for a nomadic society that ofttimes lived hand to mouth—looked them straight in the eye or the horizontal section of their visor when wearing a helmet, took off their boots when entering their home, paid their debts, fussed over their children, never made a pass at a Mandalorian of the opposite sex unless the individual planned to become part of the culture, and respected the elderly—as any Mandalorian who has reached such an age would be an exceptional warrior—anyone who encountered a Mandalorian outside of combat was unlikely to come to harm."

On a vaguely related note, the totally unneeded Revan content update has happened on SWtOR. But in addition to that update there were some major changes to the way character progression was handled and the commendation system for getting gear. I've only glanced at a couple of the characters on my account since it went live but it is mostly for the better. It mucked up my toolbars though, not too impressed at that.

Great. Now the ungodly load times for ToR are going to be even worse as I wait for the launcher to update. Wonderful.
And on the topic of joining the Mandalorians, I just registered on the Mandalorian Mercs forums. Hopefully I'll be able to get some tips on making my own set of armor.

I admit, I laughed there Iron. Sorry for twisting the knife there but I really had no appreciation for how knarly the dustbox was before I got a new machine. I had suffered through load screens in excess of 5 minutes on the dustbox in ToR now they are mostly less than one.
