I admit, I laughed there Iron. Sorry for twisting the knife there but I really had no appreciation for how knarly the dustbox was before I got a new machine. I had suffered through load screens in excess of 5 minutes on the dustbox in ToR now they are mostly less than one. No worries. I realize your status as a member of the PC Gaming Master Race compels you to be a insufferable prick. Going back to the topic, not only have I joined the Mandalorian Mercs forum, but I'm already working on joining them as a full member. Armor and all.

Well the armor is looking to be a bit pricy, but I can keep the costs down by making it myself using plastic trash bins and crawling thrift/surplus stores for other components.

I love how the hazing ritual for that forum is actually really fucking awesome.

Yeah. They've got VERY strict rules as to what constitutes acceptable armor (oh, you can be unique, but here's a set of very specific rules that must be followed to the letter to even join as a full member). Killed my idea of my Mando character being an ex-Jedi who originally was kicked from the order due to being naturally inclined towards the dark side, being brought back into the fold as the Clone Wars mandated the order needed more Jedi, treated as a bit of a pariah since he's a "necessary evil", being critically wounded on a mission, rescued by a Mando clan, realizing he's more at home and at peace among the Mandos, quits the order, and becomes a Mando himself, but still keeps up with his force and lightsaber training.
Per the rules, lightsaber hilts only and must be trophies unless portraying an in-universe character who is known for wielding a saber.

Iron, you are my hero at the moment.
EDIT: Also, I recommend two or more spikes on the armor. Mandalorians sometimes wore those. And it would suit your metal-ness.

Since I'm going for a modern era build, spikes would be difficult at best and likely a no-go. Besides, since this is my first build I want to keep it simple.

And speaking of how metal Mandalorians are, here's one of their more popular sayings.
"It's one thing to see us coming. It's another to do something about it."

Bucket pic!! Need to add some foam on the inside to improve the fit, get some epoxy to make it look like it's one piece by filling in the seam, and then paint it, but I'm digging it.

I'm using that helmet because it's light, inexpensive, and doesn't need much in the way of mods to be considered acceptable by the Mercs. Later on, I'll order a custom resin/sintra helmet made to my specs when I get the money. Once I epoxy it so the seam is gone(it comes in two pieces and needs assembly), add some reinforcement to some of the weaker sections, and add some foam inserts on the inside for a better fit, I'll be paining it black with green trim. My overall goal is to have a Jango-style set of armor which is classified as medium weight by the Mercs, but to start off I'll be basing my armor around Boba's which is considered light weight. No jetpack, though. They're a massive pain in the ass to make and buying a good one isn't exactly cheap. Besides, no jetpack means no getting knocked into a sarlacc pit because shitty script writing.

...I'll be painting it black... * singing* I see a helmet and I want to paint it black... no colours anymore I want it to be black... In all seriousness, that is a pretty cool suit there, Iron!
