I'd like to speak out in favour of Romeo and Juliet here! this is the second time in as many days when it's been bashed.
I'm very very fond of it. When its intro was up on the News feed I was reading it every time and really drinking it in. I think it's beautifully written, and I enjoy the violence and the angst of it all.
I certainly agree that the romance in the play is idiotic. They literally fall in love at first sight, as teenagers, and decide to get married a couple days later. However the romantic dialogue they occasionally exchange ("It is the east" etc) is pretty good, no matter who's speaking it. But I don't call it a romance. It's a tragedy, about youths in a harsh world ruining their lives, and it's an incredibly good one.
And the quality of the writing is just on another level.
Anyway!
I have never seen a moody Chinese film, and now I want to. One of the stories I have on the horizon might be romance-oriented. Like a romantic comedy.

Alright I might be harsh there with Romeo and Juilet in my wording.
I do admit it has some lovely dialogue and poetic proses. I would certainly look it in a differnt PoV if it weren't for the fact the teachers and everyone else KEEPS insisting it's a romantic story. For god's sake it's a friggin TRAGEDY, not a romance. That's why I'm soooo irritated about that play for ages.
Didn't helped the fact when the author of the Twilight series says her works was inspired by Romeo and Juilet. That certainly didn't help my perception about the play til now since you called it a tragedy. Thank god someone at least someone is sane here.
Anyways, don't get me wrong, I don't 'hate' Romeo and Juilet. I admit, it's good play but in my personal taste I like Macbeth more, in one of Shakesphere's plays. I'm not much of an orientated romance person here...
Anyways if we're going to discuss about about other literatures, I don't think we should talk about in this thread. I mean this thread is reaked with bad fan fiction, right? It should be placed in a fresh new clean thread the very least.

Anyways, I'm suprised that you have not seen the ending to Lust Caution or House of the Flying Daggers. Those are pretty moody enough without adding some of the non-translated shows that my family watches together.
Oh and avoid that other chinese film called Curse of the Golden Flower. Don't let that giant army battle and the lovely costume designs fool you. The story is so shithouse. Me and a couple of my mates regreted buying our tickets to see the film a few years ago... Just don't.
2 stars out of five. I'm serious

Goodness me... WTF is this?
And I thought it didn't get worse /facepalm
NURSE! I NEED BRAIN BLEACH NAO!!!!
Edit:
After I've read a couple of chapters, clearly this kid is like the Duchump of the Fan Fiction world. This story is equivilent as placing a urinal in an art gallery and call it an 'art'.
In the spirit of SpoonyOne, I like to say this.
*In a sacastic, pompous tone*
"Oh No! I'm, like, totally being rickrolled by a troller's bleach prose. BOGUS!"

Looks like someone is on crack I suppose. Well at least I got reviews from you guys over here for Mindoir's Lullaby, so I'm good, I don't give a crap about it really nowdays if I have reviews or not in ff.net Anyways here's another masterpiece to look at. Don't worry you won't need brain bleach for this one. It's actually enjoyable. In fact it's almost a guilty pleasure if it weren't for the TV Tropers praising on about this. Not a bad fan fic for a crossover crack. www.fanfiction.net/s/3886999/1/Shinji_and_Warhammer40kEdit: Oh... dear... god, this fic is bat shit crazy... but damn fun to read if you pass some of the same grammatical faults that I have in my fics. I just can't believe I'm hooked reading this... Your mirage may vary but I don't think this fic belongs to this thread at all it seems...

That 'HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' story reminds me of a guy I went to college with some eyars ago. Ah, good ole memories of Stoned Bob and his antics. He was forever telling me these insane drug enduced stories that I could never not listen to. They were AMAZING! They involved everything you could want in a story. Alien's, demonic creatures, government conspiracy, the world reaching its end, humans with super powers and a cult. The best part about his stories were that they were a series and he believed all of them. I hear he's mostly clean now... shame really.

I'll let it slide; this way you keep the post count you would've had if I hadn't deleted the thread. I'll check the stories out later..... and mock them.
What was my name doing in your dream?
