Another FF killer for me is unoriginality - people just re-writing the exact story of the game without even trying to put their own twist in there somewhere bugs me. Does that make me a bad FF writer when I've retracing my steps of the characters from the game? like writing up Liara's and Shepard's back story? I haven't seen seen a review beggar yet, tbh. Still I suppose having zero reviews are better than getting punched in the gut like the Wandering Cirtic or some really blunt reader...

Some people (again, look to the Star Wars section for some examples) just write the game, with no variation.

Ah, I see what you mean. I think I've saw a couple like that in the ME section as well.

There are a lot of these novelisations for Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic. Just the author explaining everything that happens but with their own slant/characterisation in there. It's dull and pointless to read, but very enjoyable to write.

Guys... I've managed to read up that Fan Fiction Lemon of Starfox that Cali linked here and finish all with my sanity still intact. While I was in the process of frying my brains again I've managed to write up a MST piece with a great effort and post it in another Forum that is shall-not-be-named due to the flak they are getting recently from angry, angry, bratty teens.
Thank... god, I've pass though that ordeal.
Wait a minute, I'm feeling a little bit light headed and my cheeks have this green hue to it...

Your review is not on yet, might take an hour to get it post online.
Anyways, while I'm a little messed up you want me to MST that too?

"This is going to be a romance. If I get good reviews it also will have sex scenes". That's a great way to write. I must offer the reader the same deal in my future work...
Update: Oh yes I see the review now. I liked it, but I'm sure he's trolling. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of the attention.

Yeah good point, I'm too tired to pull out another snarky comment after I've pulled a commando on Cali's Link... And appologises in advance if someone did actually crash into our forums during my snark up session with that piece... with roses hopefully. EDIT: Read the piece... oh dear... so awful I've can't even snark the damn thing in MST style. It's fraken IMPOSSIBLE. Seriously, this kid is trying to be the next Tara but failed epicly. And if anyone is still feeling morbid, here's the link to that MST piece I've just did, hope it works. Tillian's Readthrough (NSFW)

Alright I'll copy and paste instead but... I'll add some spoiler hidden to cover up the some of the offending words slots due to the nature of my critique.
In this thread or add a new one?

Well, I'll try and see I can convert it into MST format since now Mr. Buch that fic is going to be a "romance" story... I have some great comments on the idea of "what's a good romance" story.
*ahem* That been said. I've haven't writen a single piece on the idea of love since... like when I was 15 years old, writing shitty fantasy stories about her vagrant girl who turns out to be a princess and her love for another prince guy, blah, blah and blah.
Ugh, that made me sounded like another bratty teen >.<
Anyways I might feel tempted to write a romantic story or intergrate love elements into my current stories. Who knows. /Shrug.

Romance is something I've never really attempted writing, come to think of it. It must be too cheerful for me.

Romances is not always about rainbows, unicorns and all that crap. Sometimes it might enhanced a bittersweet mood. Come to think of it. I might watched too many moody chinese films in the past couple years.
That mini series "The burd" was the one of my favourite romantic films but it's really sad and tragic at the end though. At least the ending didn't have the idiot ball element like Romeo and Juilet.
Btw officially I think Romeo and Juilet is the most over rated fictions I've ever come arcross too. I just didn't get that concept of them as being romantic. More like a teen lust too me. Worse part is I have to study it for my year 10 english studies. Sooo... shitty...
