I just completed a feat that puts Buch's claim of beating Castlevania to shame.
Pistols and knuckles only run of all four episodes of Doom I on Nightmare difficulty.

Okay. You have to be lying. Unless you played all four episodes like you were Jennifer Simpson from Clock Tower and ran away from the minions of hell rather than stand and fight.

I think it's fantastic he even has the patience to get through that mess with it's horrid control scheme and (ground breaking for it's day but still seriously flawed) gameplay.

You beat the last level of episode 4 - which is a single room with a spider-demon, two barons of hell and like a million skull thingies ------ with a pistol? On Nightmare? You got past the Cyber-demon in that level Episode 4 with the big acid pit with a pistol?! You KILLED the cyber-demon in that other level where he's the episode boss??? I literally cannot imagine that this is possible! I can barely beat the first level of the first episode on Nightmare without restrictions. I mean.... if you're not kidding, then you sir are a hero and I suggest you be made President. I love Doom so I know That DOES put my Castlevania accomplishments to shame! Jesus, well done. --------------------- Linders, you are mad. The game is extremely playable and holds up very well. I still play it.

I barely managed it. I was abusing the save function left and right, but that cyber demon I kept tricking into firing rockets at ranges where he'd eat the damage while the spider demon, I killed by tricking other demons into fighting it.
I died a LOT and barely survived with 2% health.

Oh, and on Nightmare mode, the enemies re-spawn so yeah, I was hauling ass more than fighting unless I got caught into a corner. Shooting explosive barrels and tricking demons into fighting each other were critical.

The man who fights and runs away (with a save button) lives to fight another day!

So... basically the gaming wall pissing contest is starting?

On a side note: It's pretty fitting and freaky that I changed my steam name to "IDDQD" only a day before this thread was created. A sign of things to come?

So... basically the gaming wall pissing contest is starting? More like ongoing. I've beaten quite a few of these old games myself, but I'm old and can't remember half of their names.

So... basically the gaming wall pissing contest is starting? I think you'll find that that contest started and ended the day I first sent Dracula's head to the Moon. And let us not forget my Ninja Gaiden accomplishments.

I mean this Doom thing is pretty neat I guess, y'know, it's OKAAAYYYY.
But let me tell you something my son.
And also my daughter, Tillian. You just listen here old sonny/daughterly fella my lass.
You just listen close now.
Let Uncle Buch (heh) tell you something he learned back in Roumania.
You just listen up, dude and / or didette.
Yes indeed.
Right now.
Here it is:
Here's what old Jack Burton has to say about things:
THERE AREN'T ANY QUICKSAVE SYSTEMS OVER AT GOOD OL' CASTLE DRACULA.

I mean this whole thread stuff is pretty neat I guess, y'know, it's OKAAAYYYY. But let me tell you something my son. And also my pet T-Rex, Gorvar. You just listen here old sonny/carnivorous fella my dino. You just listen close now. Let Uncle Cali (Tee hee) tell you something he learned back in... where was it now? You just listen up, dude and/or didette. Yes indeed. Right now. Here it is: Here's what old Flynn Taggart has to say about things: "Once you beat the big badasses and clean out the moon base you're supposed to win, aren't you? Aren't you? Where's your fat reward and ticket home? What the hell is this? It's not supposed to end this way! It stinks like rotten meat, but looks like the lost Deimos base. Looks like you’re stuck on the shores of Hell. The only way out is through."

So much ham in this thread. So much that I think Gorvar will have a field of a day. I hear he likes his meat, right?
