Sand Ceremoney? Is that like a Tusken Raider thing? A Sand Ceremony is a Unity ceremony... you take three different colors of sand to represent three things - the Green Sand to represent the foundation of the relationship (in our case, the Green was to represent the grass upon which we stood during the ceremony) and the other two colors, White (for Linders) and Blue (for Me) to represent the two souls joining together. We both held the small bottle of Green Sand to pour the base into the main jar, and then we each poured our own color at the same time to represent the joining of ourselves into matrimony. By pouring both the White and Blue together, it caused a swirling effect in the two colors in the main jar - and it looked awesome.

The spread of desserts was indeed awesome... the heart-shaped cookies on the lower right corner of the table have our initials on them, and one of my aunts made those, and the Main Cake in the center was designed and made by another aunt... all the desserts were made by various family members, and the catering was done by a friend of the family who is an amazing caterer...
The whole day was amazing, and thankfully, while it was threatening to rain, the rain held off until after the main ceremony and reception and didn't actually rain until after people were retreating into the house on their own accord...

My mother made the banners, as well - and designed the layout of the decorations on the tables, and Linders' mother did the flowers, and helped my mom decorate the dessert table and the pillars attached to the house in the background of the second-last picture... so yeah, we have a massively talented family who can cook, decorate, design, etc. - and I have so little related talent I sometimes wonder how I can be part of the family... lol
