All three of those games sound incredibly dull, lazy and joyless to me. Is this what it feels like to get old?

It's wht it feels like for the gaming industry to go to shit.
I seriously can't believe people think Destiny is going to revolutionize video games like Bungie are claiming. It'll just end up being another Spore, mark my words.
I dunno, maybe I'm just angry at E3 in general because of this:

Haven't played AC 3 yet but wasn't the ship sequences touted as something that could be it's own game? I'd like to see more as there have been very few really worthwhile pirate games out there.

It was probably the best part of the game, as much as it had no place in a game supposedly about assassinations and climbing buildings. I'm feeling kind of mixed about AC4. Most of the improvements to the sailing sound fun, like being able to freeroam the seas, diving for treasure and being able to jump in and out of your flagship at any time, but I'm really burnt out on it after so many annual sequels, I don't find the setting as interesting as 1 or 2's, and it's obvious the talent at Ubisoft Montreal have jumped ship (pun intended) to work on Watch Dogs. Plus, the ultimate piracy game has already been made: I do kind of wish Rockstar weren't too cool for E3, though. I'd love to see some gameplay of GTAV. It's one of the few games I'm excited for that hasn't come about through Kickstarter.

Pirates! was awesome and should actually have made my desert Island list on the other thread but it is literally the only really good pirate game out there in 30 years of the hobby. Why is that? We (read me) want more!

I'm kinda hyped for Dragon Age III. They should unveil that this year I'd guess Me4 will be revealed at E3 2014

Oh yeah, Dragon Age 3. I'm... not exactly hyped but very hopeful for that!
If Bioware have fired their Man in Charge of Endings and his mate the Lady Who Will Not Stop Writing About Templars and Mages then it could be really special.

I'm kinda hyped for Dragon Age III. Then it's a shame BioWare seemingly stop developing it and just hide under their desks any time someone looking like pic related walks past their office:
