So there was nothing at E3 that excited me at all aside from Sony and Nintendo sounding negative about charging for used games and the online thing. That was, sadly, exactly what I expected. The highlight is that two out of three companies are not planning any shameless extortion for the time being. Great. The only thing that even made me raise an eyebrow was the announcement / trailer for a new Killer Instinct game, but then they revealed their bizarre new price structure where you get the game for free but then buy every character separately. Oh fuck off, Microsoft. That's like, "Sorry we crashed your car, but hey we got you that ice cream you used to love! You have to eat it off the floor though. Y'know, the car crash." Yeah, cheers. You not hyped for Phantom Pain, bro? You don't wanna waterboard paraplegics and shoot child soldiers?

Somebody mentioned Battlefront -- I had forgotten that. Yeah that one ought to be pretty cool. I really like Battlefront 2 on Xbox - I still play that!

The PS4 won, but it was like a fight against Glass Joe. It's hard to be excited about it.
I'm sure there will be great games on PS4 and whatever else ends up sharing the top spot over the next ten years, and I'm sure there will be good innovations eventually in terms of design and hardware. As long as there are games to look forward to, there's good news and fun, and I'm looking forward to The Walking Dead 2 and maybe Dragon Age 3, not to mention whatever several small publishers I love decide to do next. But for now, that was a pretty disappointing E3.

It was pretty shit....only good reveals were Walking Dead 400 days, Witcher 2 and MGS....thats it. At least those games had something to say. DA3 had jack shit to show us.

I'm very, very nervous about Battlefront. Shooters have changed a bit since 2 was out, there's no denying it. And it would be just like EA to push out a substandard game to capitalize on people's nostalgia and anticipation for BF3.
Mirror's Edge could be good if:
1. Combat is cut down on, with firefights reduced to a couple of optional sequences and escape nearly always more viable than duking it out with the Jerkops 2. They get the guy who did the first game's soundtrack back. And don't use dubstep 3. They don't try to appeal to the Social Justice crowd. I have nightmares about that talk Anita Sarkeesian gave to DICE. 4. Ditch the animated cutscenes and shoot everyone who was involved with them.
