I enjoyed it. Though I got a huge laugh out of my imagined reaction of New Yorkers told to stay put.

I haven't seen it yet. Given how utterly ludicrous I have heard the story to be(letting a strange masked man on a plane carrying a nuke? HELLO!) I think I need to get very drunk before watching it for the first time. I already all but promised Lily I would allow her to have me watch it. But my suspension of disbelief needs to be completely completely active I think to not pick it apart I'm thinking.

There's no nuke on the plane. There is a nuclear scientist on the plane. Said scientist messes with Wayne Industries clean energy project to create said nuke.

There, see, proof I have not seen it.
Still few things are closely monitored than nuclear materials. Kinda hard to pilfer that much purified uranium without being investigated.

Oh, not nearly as easy to hide as the movie made it out to be then. Even better.

Soon my reptilian friend, soon.
It's still gonna be silly as fuck because Nolan takes a superhero movie so seriously. So it needs to stand up to serious logic.

I thought it was good. Somewhere inbetween 'medium' and 'great'. It was nowhere near as good as The Dark Knight, but it was still a really nice action movie.
Although the thing about the plane isn't one of them, I think what lets the movie down the most is the plot holes. The plot is pretty convoluted, and as such lots of stuff happens that even I (I'll go along with anything if I like the characters and the mood) was like, "Wait, how the hell did he...?" all the way through. I won't spoil anything. And also Bane was just... silly. He was cool and threatening, no doubt. But the voice and the mask were very silly.
What strikes me as odd about the Nolan Batman films is that they would probably be much better movies if they didn't have Batman in them, you know? They'd be superb crime movies, which is what they so obviously want to be, if they dropped the Batman angle. Bane would be a great underground revolutionary if they didn't have to make him wear that mask, Selena would be a great thief character if she weren't wearing those heels, and Bruce Wayne would be more interesting as a vigilante if he didn't have to fly a super-plane. I think all three movies, especially 1 and 3, suffer because they have to reign in the superb mafia drama and include Batman on a motorbike at regular intervals. The Joker is the only one who worked and bridged the gap between crime film and costume superhero film, in that his costume and personality translated very well and he was able to double as comic relief.

Did anybod else notice Nolan hired everyone off the set of Inception? Hey guys, thanks for going on this dream thingy with me urgm....you wanna do some super hero shit? I mean Murphey was in it twice and he loves it.
M: You barely gave me any lines last time Chris. N: Fine, i'll give you more lines in the next one...but yeah who's in? You dont have to change roles anyway. You can be the sidekick, you can be the femme fatale and you can wear a mask again like you did in this movie!

I rather enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises - I actually liked this one better than the first two; though The Dark Knight comes in close second. I liked Batman Begins, but am not fond of Katie Holmes, so I was glad Maggie Gyllenhaal took over as Ms. Dawes in The Dark Knight. I love Maggie Gyllenhaal - she's awesome. I already all but promised Lily I would allow her to have me watch it. But my suspension of disbelief needs to be completely completely active I think to not pick it apart I'm thinking. As for you, my dear Linders, way to make me feel guilty for wanting you to watch it with me... I won't force you to... *pouts endearingly* I will say that I liked Bane as a character at first - until it was revealed that he was actually someone else's Dragon... I shan't mention names for fear of spoilage, so I'll just leave it at that. But he was a very effective villain for me until that point where his Big Bad revealed their identity. And gods bless Anne Hathaway, I loved her as Selina Kyle!!

I hadn't noticed that, but yeah what the hell... good point! It's pretty much the entire cast, minus DiCaprio!
