Tell me about the recoil. I assume those guns gave a good kick. The recoil on the .22 and the 9mm wasn't so bad, they kicked a little but I was able to control them. The 40 cal kicked back a bit harder and threw my aim off a bit but I was able to finish with that one as well - but the 45cal (when I tried it) kicked back so hard I only got off 2 shots before giving up and handing it back to the RSO. The 45cal actually hurt my hand it kicked so hard, but maybe that's just because I'd never used one before and was not used to the recoil... It was a good day, all in all, and I'm hoping I can get the chance to go again with Linders, since it would be more fun if he and I could make a day trip of it...

Was supposed to be on a double shift today. Got off way early as we were over staffed for tonight. Usually it's the other way around. Also five shifts before my vacation starts and a week before my birthday.

I wish them good luck in getting me there that day. I'm already scheduled off that day and the 10 days following.

So this is good news. My co-worker at the Library is apparently a partner with a Motel in the city, and he is going to see if he can offer me a part time job / place to stay that will not interfere with my current job!
Sole downside at the moment is my landlord would rather I waited a week to tell her (cutting it extremely close) so she wouldn't "have to think about it on vacation".

So I had some sort of vision. An epiphany. I can't put my finger on what it exactly is. It's some sort of weird, eldritch realization. I honestly don't know what to say about it.
I can't imagine how silly this might look to not actually be saying anything and keeping ya'll in suspense, but I'll get back to you once I know.

Did you finally figure out who killed Laura Palmer? You must tell me about it over breakfast tomorrow!

This may turn out to be nothing - but, the hope is (for now) blooming - I have a copy of what might be a first edition Harry Potter book with what is described as a 'rare typo' that could be worth a load of money.
I've been calling around to rare book dealers in my city to find out more, but so far they don't have any information. I wonder how to find out for sure?
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but we could really really use the money, so if I am holding on to a rare book worth thousands, I want to know.

Well, sad news, I found out my copy of the book is not a First Edition or part of the run of books that are considered worth the big money. Drat. I could have used the money.

Well, I got my ass grilled by some goons and you know what? That felt good.
Seriously, I got some serious, but nice and helpful critique on another website. For the first time in a while, not only I got something to work on to take the next level up in art, but also, I really do felt like I found a new home. I hope the good stuff keeps on for a while, because it's really hard to find a decent community to settle down. I like that place a lot.

Got the cast off yesterday. mixed bag there. I had no idea how quickly muscle can turn to water when it isn't worked at all. My leg is noticeably thinner and what meat is left feels more like water than anything.
That's the bad news.
The good is, I can walk with a cane now at least. Stairs are a problem but can be managed. I have access to physio to get some strengthening help and to try to return motion to my ankle. Best yet, something I have been worried about for nearly 2 months is fixed. I was able to get the two of us on my work's drug plan after we lost out on her old job's plan when she was laid off.
All I need now is for my EI benefits to roll in and I can breathe a proper sigh of relief.

I've been ignoring that coverage as a matter of maintaining sanity. Watched Star Wars Rogue One instead. Finally. it was fucking hard to get out, with no car and a 10 minute walk to a bus stop with a busted ankle. Before yesterday, I was out of house for Christmas, one movie and 2 appointments in the whole month.
I have a tension exerciser that was left over from my rehab for my achilles tendon last year. I'm using that as a precursor to getting properly back on my feet again.

I got accepted into a diploma degree in Mass Media and Communications for this year. Currently waiting on the paperworks to fill out.
