I won an iPhone 5c at work today! There was a month-long competition in April, and the grand prize was an iPhone 5c ( two of them - for two grand prize winners), with five secondary prizes of $100.00 gift cards to the grocery store. I was one of the two lucky winners of the iPhone 5c - which I now have to figure out what to do with, since I just upgraded to a new phone in March and have not yet paid that one off (it's paid off in installments monthly on the phone bill). But, I never thought I would own an iPhone at all! Found this image on Google Image Search - my new iPhone is yellow rather than blue. I am rather excited about this! I rarely - if ever - win anything, and this is awesome!

Went to buy a pizza to eat. Was one cent short because one of the pennies was old and the machine would not take it. I went to leave but noticed a penny near the blood pressure machine. I literally said to myself that it was a gift from the gods.

Now I definitely have to share this.
My mom was taking Ebony and Avery, our 2 small kittens, away (Without even my consent). In return, we would get a dog. Next thing I know, when I come back from the gas station with some Brisk Lemonade, we get to keep the kittens. And we got to get the dog too.

I'm glad that worked out. I'm of the mind, personally that pets are family members not to be traded around like that, so getting to keep the kittens as well as getting the dog is really for the best. Cats can be pretty finicky about their people and may not adjust to moving to a new home. that little beast currently serving as Lily's avatar cannot abide humans who are not me. i could not trade her even if I wanted to.

I cannot believe you almost lost your kittens - I'm so glad you got to keep them both... cats (and dogs) are family members, not just pets, and I believe it traumatizes them to be taken away from their human. I remember years ago when I was 14 or 15 years old, my parents allowed me to adopt a kitten from the SPCA - I remember having to beg for permission to have the kitten because I am allergic to cats and at the time my allergies were somewhat aggressive - but I convinced my parents to let me get the kitten on condition that I would take allergy medication to stave off the issues. After the third time my father had to rush me to the hospital for the asthma attack the allergies triggered due to the kitten's fur, my parents made me give the kitten away. It broke my heart and I resigned myself to the horror of never being able to have another cat. I am very much a cat person. Dogs are cute, but cats are my favorite four-legged beauties. But now, my allergies have (thankfully) tamed down and I only very rarely have to take medication for them, and our beautiful kitty Shadow doesn't affect my allergies. I love her, even though I am certain she is diabolically plotting my eventual downfall...

So, Linders and I went to a new Sushi restaurant today; one of his former co-workers from the restaurant Linders work at is now working at this Sushi place ( Alex Oh's Sushi & Rolls) - and I knew that sushi is typically very visually pleasing to look at, but... the meal I ordered today was by far the most beautifully designed serving of food I've ever had in a restaurant. Ever. I had to take a picture before eating this meal, as it was just so... cute!

Especially if it is shell-fish cause I may get a extremely bad allergic reaction.

That looks pretty good. Except I can't eat fish. Especially if it is shell-fish cause I may get a extremely bad allergic reaction. That's unfortunate - I have learned over the last few years to love fish - especially shellfish - lobster and shrimp... and I like Sushi a lot - but not too often, if that makes sense. But, from what I understand, shellfish allergies are actually one of the more common food-related allergies, right? Shellfish and Nut allergies... and Dairy allergies... those are the ones I hear about most often...

So, I've been rather stressed out and depressed lately... mostly due to unfortunate financial strains and some unfortunate results of a blood test that revealed that my health is not the best and led to my doctor giving me a new medication that is rather pricey, adding to the previously mentioned financial woes.
Linders is awesome, he's been keeping me from going out of my mind with the stress, and thanks to my mother today, I've discovered a new form of stress-relief. Long walks on a beach. Sounds cliche, I know, but it works!
My mother called me today and when I told her about the results of the doctor appointment and how stressed and sad I've been the last few days, she said "Want to go for a walk at the beach? We can take the puppy, and watch her run around!"
Well, I am annoyed that I forgot to take my camera with me, because the resulting video of the puppy going bonkers on the beach would have been the cutest thing ever, and it felt SO AMAZING to walk in the water (only in as deep as my mid-shin, though, as I didn't have a swimsuit - but damn, how I wanted to go diving in and just... swim swim swim). I have not felt that relaxed in 15 years! I realized today that it's been 15 years since I was last at a beach... and it brought back memories...
I need to get a bathing suit and take Linders to that beach - too bad he had to work today - he'd have loved that beach.
*beat*
Beaches are awesome.

My application to go on lily's Blue Cross plan from her work has gone through. My own health benefits plan was pretty crap. I might actually be able to get my glasses replaced now.
I'm not saying my old plan was useless, the co-pay for prescription drugs was actually decent, as long as you don't spend more than 2000 per year but 80 bucks for glasses for 2 years is bullshit.

My team at work had another Team Away Day (this one we won as a prize for a contest at work) and so yesterday we as a team went to a Gun Range to shoot guns! I was not expecting to enjoy it so much, as I am sensitive to loud noises and I am somewhat clumsy and this does not make for a good gun-woman - but, I had a blast! (Whoa - pun really not intended! ) As a woman who had never even held a real gun before yesterday, I managed to impress the Range Safety person who was helping us - I was the first one on my team to shoot, and as I picked up the gun for the first time the RSO said "Ok, so remember, pick it - oh! Ok, you got it!" I managed to get the perfect grip in the right position after having only seen his demonstration once and from the back of the group! I was rather proud of myself... lol And also, as someone who has never fired a gun before yesterday, I managed to not miss the target at all, and managed to get some good shots on the target circles! And, I shot a T800 Terminator! It's hard to see in the picture, but I managed to get a headshot on the T800! One shot went through his head, and one through his nose, and one through his... er, man-area?... what do you call it on a T800 robot? I mostly used a Smith & Wesson .22, or a Sig Sauer .22, but for the next picture, I used a Grand Power K100 9mm on the top target sheet and a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber handgun on the bottom target sheet... In all, I had a really fun time at the gun range, and would love to do it again!
