Half Life 2
There I said it. That was the most overrated piece of crap FPS i ever played. Linear, boring, admittedly pretty for it's day and pretentious as all fuck. Hey look here is a wacky physics gun now use it in zombieland to throw saw blades at shit or run out of ammo. Not even Dead Space used jump scares as stupidly as this game. And everyone went apeshit over it calling it the best thing ever. I think only Bioshock scored higher on the reviewers sweetheart list and it was only slightly less overrated.

Might have been a good sequel, but it was still a profoundly overrated game.
Someone else can play Half Life 3. And is it confirmed or is it simply some Valve fanboy wanking over the latest rumour?

More like a mod campaign that everyone loves but I hate it topics.
One word: Falskaar.
There will be spoilers for the mod itself, because fuck this crap.
The level design is large but uninspired. It's mostly fields and trees, with a few landmarks in far and between. Falskaar has only one hub and it's a small town. About the size of the minor holds in mainland Skyrim such as Morthal. Which is normally fine if there's other cities to travel, trade and doing quests, but it's the only town that is viable for trading and questing by the time the mod's campaign is done. Most of the bigger cities, such as Bolvar, gets destroy in the course of the story and Staalgarde, which is the antagonist's home base.
So you're stuck with that bumpkin town and the little seaport that is miles away from the town, to do some trading and questing.
But that's not my main beef with it. It's the story and the characters that really twist my stomach into a knot. The story goes like this: Some old man (with a horrid VO) asks you to investigate a local mine in the Rift. Turns out you've stumbled across some Dwemer portal and for some inept reasons, you step in. Then you get teleported to Falskaar, where the locals dubbed you "The Traveler" due to some prophecy where it said "shit flies when you appear". That involves the antagonist who was harassing, pillage and burning locals, over a search for immortality. Honestly, the characters themselves are flat, especially the antagonist himself, who I was hoping him to have at least some plausible Freudian excuse to do that stupid shit, when he could just sit down and discuss over this with bottle of mead. There are times where you're railroad to hold the idiot ball do honourable things, because the plot demands it. That includes giving the McGuffin to antagonist, expecting he'll honnour his bargain (He doesn't).
Also near the end of the main storyline, it hi-jacks your follower into an OoC moment.
After I've finished playing it, I was so irritated that I've uninstalled it, despite the author strictly warning you not to and I've started a new character from scratch. That mod annoys the hell out of me.

Why would the mod author warn you not to uninstall? Was there a chance uninstalling it would futz up your main game install, or was the author just... picky?
Anyway, it sounds rather annoying as a storyline goes...

To quote from the author himself:
The uninstallation of Falskaar is NOT supported. It's simply too big. Treat Falskaar like a DLC, and do NOT remove it during a playthrough. Only remove if you are starting a new game. To remove (Only for new game) simply delete "Video/Falskaar_Intro.bik", "Video/Falskaar_Outro.bik", "Falskaar.bsa", and "Falskaar.esm". Failure to follow the above conditions will likely result in serious, irreversible damage to your save and is not recommended or supported.
Fortunately, I've pretended it never happened by starting a new character from scratch anyway. So that's fine. But the story and characters... ugh. So jarring, especially if you compare them to Interesting NPCs, another mod that has better written characters and quests.

Because difference of opinions
A quick confession: I'm having a hard time of enjoying the DA setting in general. Mind you, I've gotten over the 'I'm so sick of fantasy genre phase' now, to the point that I would legitimately play Oblivion again once I get my modding sort it out. And I'm writing a original comic that is fantastical setting too. Also, that DA2 thing? I'm not that peeved about it anymore, DA2 haven't ruined my platte with the DA series, really.
But yeah, DA doesn't seemed to be my taste, honestly. That's why I haven't got a copy of DA: I, despite everyone seem to have said good things about it, I'm just not into DA.

I agree, Tillian. As a game, I love Dragon Age. As a setting, I'm just not at all enthralled.

Ironically, I only got particularly interested in the world of Dragon Age after Inquisition (and the totally ballin' Trespasser DLC), which neither of you jamokes have played.

Well, I'm acknowledging that everyone likes DA:I
But I'm also acknowledging that everyone who is a South East Asian, likes durian.
And I'm not a fan of two of those. What I'm sayin' is different strokes for different people.

It's some Asian fruit where the only good thing about it imo, is that it is a good murder weapon.

It's kind of the opposite for me. I rather like the world building Bethsoft gave us in the Elder Scrolls, but having given 3 of their games a fair shake, I don't enjoy them at all.

Yeah, I agree on that. I thought both Oblivion and Skyrim were kinda of average is due to Bethesda tend to play on the safe side when it comes writing, I think that's the problem.
