And mice talked to, who knew? The only thing missing is a russian accent and we ripped off An American Tail....

Maybe it was the rapping dog that made the ship hit the berg and sink... At least there wasn't a older critter talking to his 'fur-lings'...

Forgot the movie's name, but it was the one with the old badget sending a mouse, a hedgehog and a mole to find a cure for a baby badger right? Despite them all having different sizes and would possibly eat each other. Also had a flying thing in it and a naked mole....

Yes, Gorvar, that's the one. I also forget the movie title, and have not actually watched the movie itself - I was going by the Nostalgia Critic's review of it... which was hilarious...

I finally saw 'Titanic' for the first time yesterday.... and sadly I really didn't like it. Thought it was over the top and the characters were very stereotypical and flat. I did enjoy the disaster at the end, but generally it just kind of annoyed me. Which is pretty much what I figured (I have the same reaction to everything James Cameron has made except 'Aliens') but still disappointing for me. Aw. Saw Titanic in 3D again before the centennial of its sinking and thought it was amazing. You can't do much about Jack and Rose (and Cal), I can't defend them, but I thought they were a sufficient vehicle to explore all the different stories that occurred before/during the sinking. I told my sister and her boyfriend that if you go into the movie knowing that Jack and Rose's story is the only fictional thing about what happened, the movie's a lot better. It still astounds me how much James Cameron got absolutely right. But I actually ended up seeing Cabin in the Woods today. It's sort of an anti-horror, horror film written by Joss Whedon. Hard to explain without giving stuff away, but it puts a crazy twist on the very common horror tropes we see all the time. Really clever, funny, and actually made me jump a few times. I recommend it. =D

I actually didn't mind Jack and Rose and I did like the disaster at the end, which I thought was tasteful and exciting, definitely. I certainly didn't have a problem with having these two fictional characters painted onto a very accurate retelling. That was a great idea actually.
What I couldn't stand was the old lady and the modern day submersible guys. And honestly The Zane Train wasn't doing much to help. Aside from that, it jsut seemed..... flat and lifeless to me. Very dull and fakey-looking characters, especially the guys in the submersible.
Overall I think I was too harsh at the time. The movie is certainly not bad. Just not 'real' enough for me (in terms of the dialogue, rather than the history).

Cabin in the Woods, however, was incredible. I really recommend that.

I saw The Avengers (AKA Avengers Assemble in the UK) today - absolutely loved it. Joss Whedon is my God now.
I genuinely have nothing bad to say about the Avengers movie, other than 'Natalie Portman and Liv Tyler weren't in it', which really is the weakest criticism ever spoken.

Ahhh, I wondered why no-one else had mentioned it on this site. Well I guess this makes up for every other film and game release ever.
And at least you get to see it with the correct title-card.
This was fun: at my cinema they had staff dressed up in horrible inflatable Avengers costumes, just walking around the place. Captan America had painted a frisbee to look like a shield, for example. xD It was absolutely adorable.
