Thought I'd do a movie equivalent to 'What are you reading / watching?'
I saw The Woman in Black today. Not brilliant but definitely not bad - and it scared the crap out of me. It's basically Daniel Radcliffe doing his usual act while he goes through a million jump-scares. But they're good jump-scares, and what's neat is that you never know when they're coming.

That film was a poor man's 2012...which ironicly came out before the film 2012 by the same guys.... You know, Stargate and Independence Day were not that bad. Ever since Godzilla though.....

Roland Emmerich is one of my favorite directors... There, I said it. I love disaster flicks, his specifically. I saw Chronicle a couple weeks back and absolutely loved it. A fairly disturbing, very enjoyable movie about these three kids who acquire superpowers, and one of them just so happens to be the school pin cushion. Put two and two together there, and crazy stuff starts going down.

I recently saw Dead Man, a surrealist western, which I really liked. Starring Johnny Depp, Lance Henrikson, John Hurt, Robert Mitchum, Crispin Glover, Billy Bob Thornton, and Iggy Pop as a cross-dressing frontiersman. It also has Steve Buschemi in a near unnoticeable role akin to him starring in Pulp Fiction.

Last movie I picked up was Hondo with John Wayne. Still haven't finished it.

I watched Citizen Kane the other week.
It really is the The Room of good films.

I watched Citizen Kane the other week. It really is the The Room of good films. And this is why Mr Glow is the funniest man alive. That's actually one of my favourite films. Obvious choice, I know, but I love it. Considering all the hype and nonsense talked about it, it's surprisingly easy to watch.

Gorvar, we all know you watch Jurassic Park every morning with breakfast.
I just got back from seeing Ghost Rider 2. It was really hard to rate - really poorly made but it has good bits here and there, and some hysterical overacting from Nic Cage. Really, among his best.

Saw the new Ghost Rider with my sister today, coincidentally! I agree: hysterically over the top, and we were laughing pretty frequently. We enjoyed it. Expected nothing less from Nic Cage and the directors of Crank.

For the record, when I said 'among his best' I meant his overacting. I enjoyed it too, but it really was a very bad movie!

White Chicks. I dont know why I keep punishing myself... Speaking of the black-cops-going-undercover-as-a-different-gender genre, I was watching Big Momma's House 3 earlier today. It started out okay, but the quality of the film went through the floor when Martin Lawrence and his son broke out the fat/womansuits. (The first twenty minutes.)
