Yep, the first teaser trailer'll be out in less than two hours. I think I was definitely in the part of the broken base that preferred GTA IV's slightly more grounded approach (compared to previous GTA games and Saints Row), and Rockstar only managed to hone said approach with Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire, so this is definitely worth getting excited for, if you ask me.

I managed to arrive with no less than five minutes on the ticker.
I thought Grand Theft Auto IV was incredibly tiresome, though. Hopefully they'll do something about this.
EDIT: Just watched the trailer. Looks like it'll be in an updated version of Los Santos.

Indeed. I guess planes and being able to leave the city are back, too!
EDIT: And dogs, too! They've been struggling with those since like, GTA III!

I'm very excited for this. Didn't really care for the story in GTA IV, but the world was still awesome to play around in. I'm fairly certain they've learned their lesson since then. Like you pointed out, RDR showed they're probably working in the right direction. =D

There's a rumor that you'll be playing as more than one character this time, too! Maybe the trailer's been overanalyzed, but it did seem to support the rumor (What with footage that showed the older white guy (probably the narrator) as well a younger black guy in situations only the protagonist traditionally would be in.)
How cool is the idea of having a wife and kids (Who presumably don't spend the entire game in the government's custody a la RDR) in a GTA game, though? If they pulled it off right, it could be like Breaking Bad: The Game!

I get the feeling Trevor is going to be the most enjoyable of the three protagonists.

Been watching the clip at the moment, due to the internet being a bit slow on me for some reason.
Honestly I'll probably get mobed for this, but my last GTA game was San Andreas from the last generation. Yeah I'm far behind the times.
I'll see how this one goes, but I'll be keeping an eye on this... which is saying a lot these days in my gaming appetite.

As I said before, GTA IV didn't tickle my fancy. Many disagree, though.

I hear a few mixed feelings about GTA4 in my course, so your opinion isn't that far off.

As I said before, GTA IV didn't tickle my fancy. Many disagree, though. I'm kind of hoping V is a fusion of the best parts of the III era games (mainly San Andreas, given the setting) and IV. You do get to explore the countryside (they said in the Gameinformer article that the map's bigger than San Andreas, GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption combined) and fly planes like in SA, and they've said the protagonists are a crew of heist-y-men(?) because the bank robbery mission in IV was so popular. Plus, it looks like you might have a rottweiler to sic on people while you're playing as Franklin.

I sure hope so about that exploration part. Not sure which generation it will be release. The current one or the next one? Understandable if it's the next gen, but for this gen, I'm not sure if the current consoles would handle that world size.

It's out in like five months. Safe to say it's this gen. The city looks pretty big, and there's also a large desert area, so it seems to me like they're actually telling the truth here. Honestly, it just being on the scale of San Andreas would be impressive.

If it's that big in the final product and it's in this gen, would be more than impressed honestly.

I'm choosing to believe the hype and there's nothing anyone can do to stop me. Honestly, if this is just Red Dead Redemption: 2013 L.A. Edition, it'll be a top-tier game.
Also, anyone who doesn't use Franklin the most is a confirmed Busta.

Meh. If you're gonna give me an open world game with unending radiant missions/ collectibles, make me Lego: Skyrim.
