I'm sure it will be impressive in terms of the graphics and gameplay, but I'm just hoping the story and tone are nothing like they were in GTA IV. I felt that the previous three games had a good mix of humor and seriousness, but 4 just made me want to get on depression meds. The story of that game was nonstop setbacks and heartbreak with two downer endings to choose from, and the whole overall theme of how messed up America is just made the usually funny, quirky characters seem unstable and kind of sad. It was just way too heavy for GTA.
I guess maybe they wanted to break the mold of playing as some low-level thug who rises to be the head of a criminal empire, but the result was not satisfying. GTA V is definitely not conforming to that mold either, so hopefully they can do it right this time.

Meh. If you're gonna give me an open world game with unending radiant missions/ collectibles, make me Lego: Skyrim. You seriously want more radiant missions in the style of Skyrim?

No, not really, but if RDR is any indication, most of the game is letting loose your inner insane maniac and destroying stuff. I'm sure this will have a plot, but will anyone use it?
I like the collectible lego thingies though...

No, not really, but if RDR is any indication, most of the game is letting loose your inner insane maniac and destroying stuff. I'm sure this will have a plot, but will anyone use it? My first playthrough of Red Dead Redemption was completely the opposite. I got pretty attached to John Marston, and tried my hardest to help him get the titular redemption. I don't think I ever murdered anyone in over twenty hours. Seeing what happened to him in the end was pretty rough for me, in that regard. I'm sure it will be impressive in terms of the graphics and gameplay, but I'm just hoping the story and tone are nothing like they were in GTA IV. I didn't mind the darker tone of IV as much as other people, but TBoGT really brought a lot of the fun back from the older games. Given how well recieved it was, they probably won't go darker than it again.

I've heard it was really good and I have it. I think the main game and the other DLC (I played about half of the Lost and the Damned) just left a bad taste in my mouth for that version of Liberty City. I did play through a few missions of Gay Tony and was enjoying it, but then someone in the game called me and asked if I wanted to play darts. I groaned and turned it off.
Maybe I'll give it another try though. I need to get through The Last of Us first before some guy at work can spoil it for me.
