These films are getting worse all the time. Also - that's brilliant. Well done, Scarin.

I work at Best Buy (electronics store here in the states) for one of my jobs. We just released the star wars blu rays yesterday. There was three versions released- all six together in one set, the original trilogy in one set, and the prequels in one set. The original trilogy is far outselling the prequels. Someone put Episode One on a display television in the home theater section. I promptly took it out, and put in Empire.
Also, the set for all 6 films is $125. Lucas is a greedy bastard.

I work at a Blockbuster and I've noticed too that people seem to have forgotten about the prequels these days. The original DVDs still sell and rent, hardly ever episodes 1-3.
And yeah that price is crazy. I'm told it contains eight thousand years of special features, mostly an apology from the sound guy about the Obi-Wan krayt dragon thing.

A more cynical person would say that bundling the prequels with the originals is the only way Lucas can get them to sell.

And yet we all will see Episode I in 3D in cinema's when it'll come. Speak for yourself. I can see myself maybe investing in a 3D TV eventually. But Lucas will get not one thin dime from me until he actually learns how to make a movie again.

I kinda noticed Episode's 4, 5 and 6 weren't even directed by him...that's the problem maybe?

Hey, he directed "episode 4" (as I refuse to call it), and that's my favourite!

Dude,' Empire strikes back' is WAY better then 'A New Hope'. The good guys lose Hoth AND Solo AND Luke get his hand lopped off, but they continue on because there is always a sparkle of hope.

As Plincket said, he was filming that under a limited budget and some adversity. Maybe limiting your resources voluntarily forces you to look at filming in innovative ways that having an unlimited budget never could allow.

I'm sure his limited resources were part of it. I think the success of the original movie's script and shooting (and I'm sure he had a big role in Empire's production too) was due to a bunch of stuff: luck, his enthusiasm, the freshness of the idea, and just that... he was a better writer and film-maker back then. He lost his touch. It happens to a lot of artists.

*singing* He's not an "expert" as he does not exactly have any AAA movies under his belt, but he's smart and that should not be understated. I'd rather sing his Gospel than that of the man who brought us....
