Aliens being the pinnacle of the franchise? Not so fast, Linders.
Alien was pretty much cinematic perfection. As for James Cameron's sequel, I sort of have a love/hate relationship with it.

Opinions will vary I'm sure. I'm not as much into the confined solitary horror aspect as I was into the whole kick ass and chew bubble gum aspect.
Your mileage will vary I'm sure.

Aliens was my favorite out of the bunch, but I think that's just because I saw it first. I even kinda liked Joss Whedon's Alien Resurrection. I think I saw Alien last, actually, now that I think about it! But, speaking of all that, Gearbox is making a game that they're insisting is an honest sequel to Aliens, and it certainly looks that way: And I'm not sure if you heard about this, Cali, but Ridley Scott's pretty much making a prequel to Alien: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheus_(film) Ridley says it's not technically a prequel, but everyone else working on it says it is, so... =/

Now you're talking. That's one of my favourite bits in the movie.

Pretty much the entire thing's almost that awesome, though. That moment just takes the cake.
Also, Rawhide.

"Theme from the TV show Rawhide...... thank you."
At my old work (a video shop), we used to have a CD which happened to feature Ackroyd's version of Rawhide. We played that thing over and over to confuse customers. xD
And that's the story of how come I know all the words to Rawhide.

I remember laughing my ass off when I saw that wall of guns the first time.
Looking at it again, those actors did not really seem to know how to hold the guns in a lot of the shots.

I know, right? If that 8-gauge had been loaded with real rounds, the actor playing Burt would have wound up with a broken wrist and a face full of gun barrel for his trouble. Then there's the way he was firing that HK91 (the one he was firing from the hip before the shotty). Again, poor handling on his part, plus the dual-wielding from Reba's character. That said, the series overall is better about weapons handling than many other movies nowadays.

Bert is the reason that I kept watching those movies. No matter how insane they got, he was always a badass, plain and simple. xD
