I've gotta say that I'm really enjoying playing as JC Denton in Deus Ex, if only because whenever he opens his mouth, he says something hilarious, whether he intends to or not.

Also, Jade from Beyond Good and Evil. She ran an orphanage from a lighthouse and had a pig for an uncle. How cool is that?

Very cool actually. How could I have forgotten Jade?

His VA makes Mark Meer seem positively...expressive.

David Sarif from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I think the writers managed to strike a perfect balance between visionary industrialist, corporate douche and genuinely nice guy in his characterisation that you rarely see in a game. He was probably one of the better voice acted characters to, in my opinion. Also, I want one of those waistcoats.

I agree. I had no problem flying to China for that guy. Really nice for a billionaire. xD

I agree as well. In this shadowy conspiracy game I found myself trusting this guy and his motives (even when he was being infuriatingly evasive) very early on.
Well written and the voice work was spot on.

Well written and the voice work was spot on. I think one thing that helped is that he's visibly augmented. That was just a quick way of showing the player that, despite being a little looser with his morals than most people, he does practice what he preaches. And there's a nicely written moment if you delay heading to the LIMB clinic and then leave without buying a Praxis kit. Sarif calls you up and just generally is sad that you didn't wanna augment yourself any faster.

Now it's the little things like that that separate a good game from a great game.

God from Fallout: New Vegas. I remember meeting Fawkes in Fallout 3 and thinking how cool it was to talk to an intelligent mutant, but God's just completely in another class...
