Just making sure you didn't I was getting testy. I wasn't, or didn't mean to. You make a good point in saying that the romance subplots are an added bonus. If you reread my first post on that topic where I was agreeing with Glow you will see I am board with just that. Where I think you are misunderstanding me (see it goes both ways ) is that I feel that in their haste to give us that something extra they are forgetting to actually develop the character. Carth and Bastila both felt like really well fleshed out characters and there are quite a few reams of dialogue to get through before anything gets past the playful stage. You can verbally torture the hell out of Bastila with what feels like deliberately bad flirting long before the idea of More Than Friends comes up. Miranda puts up a bit of a front in ME 2 before she admits feelings, but then that turns into a toss in the hay. Whoopie. Jacob gives off a vibe of fighting you off with a stick in the very first dialogue. FemShep's dialogue with Jacob actually stopped my FemShep playthrough cold. Tali's was kinda nice but she was developed over 2 games. I never saw Kaiden's (never got into the character, too Carth like, Sorry Rapheal S'barge) but I really liked the Shepard Ash one. The rest were too...eh squicky for me. And without it, the squaddies in question just never had much to say. I hope I am a little clearer.

Knife hit to the hand or foot being treated as more lethal than a load of 00 buckshot or an assault rifle burst to the head/torso. Yes, I've picked up Call of Duty today and I'm reminded of why I stopped playing it.

Having the game pick a surname for our character, then letting us choose the character's first name. (Shepard, Hawke...)
Honestly, what's the point? If the game's gonna give us a surname, who cares about the first name? Having a fully pre-set name would at least allow the character's love interest and family members to call them by their first name, and it would stop people giving their Shepard's such bloody Mary Sue-ish first names, the only purpose of which is to annoy me, personally.

Agreed. Alpha Protocol did thiis well with Michael Thorton. Would have been nice if Obsidian had more time to flesh it out, but we can thank Sega for that fuck up.

There's still hope for a sequel. Feargus Uruqheart has not ruled it out. It just won't be published by SEGA.
We wants it precious. We needs is and we is going to have it.

I really want a sequel, too, but Obsidian cooperating with Bioware would mean EA getting involved, which I'd rather avoid, to say the least.
Maybe Ubisoft or something?

So they're advertising this game on the YouTube called Space Marine, and whenever you search for something about a game, there's a chance there'll be a promoted video titled something like "Like Mass Effect?", "Like Deus Ex?" or "Like Final Fantasy?" (I don't know where they got that one from because I never searched for anything related to FF.)
Honestly, how can a game be like Mass Effect, Deus Ex and Final Fantasy at the same time? Do you play an angsty, effeminate commander in a baggy coat whose eyes glow red and blue respectively?

Easier than you might think. Space Marine is based off the Warhammer franchise. The space marine corps there are basically brainwashed Catholic Inquisitors...IN SPACE!!

Tau are cooler...and White scars. Ultramarines suck! And that's not because i keep losing matches against them!

You should try getting into Warhammer 40K, Glow. I think you'd like the universe. Only thing is it's quite dark, and extremely complicated at times.
The Ultramarines and White Scars are two different Space Marine chapters, both having differing combat doctrines. The Ultramarines prefer counterbalanced formations while the White Scars love fast vehicles and melee combat.

That said, I might look into it. Even though I have a taste for dark comedy, I'm not really into dark dramatic stuff all too much.

Well if you don't have any patience for tabletop or can't get a half dozen friends to drop some 300.00 for sourcebooks and models you can always give Dawn of War a try. It and it's gazillion expansions should be available on the cheap.

Here's one that gets me. The obcession with nukes. As in "rogue state has a shit load of nukes. Take them out." Yes, nukes are dangerous as shit. We get it already.
That's one thing I liked about Alpha Protocol, the weapons involved, while advanced as hell, were fairly conventional.
