PC is correct. And everyone's hair looks much better now that they can comb it. FYI If you're on the east side of the hinterlands and just found a camp, DO NOT go down the cave / tunnel. The valley on the other side has high level dragons, so Redcliffe proper has to wait a bit.

The Misses is playing DAI and gives me a running commentary. She had some issues before with the installing (which is manditory if you want to play) but it's going good. Heads up for 360 guys, dont install disc 2 aka play disc or you will get a heap of trouble.

Trying to start this game with my original model Xbox360, small hard drive (thanks for letting me know about that mandatory installation in advance, EA) and dodgy internet connection is like the labours of Hercules.
I'm currently 1 hour into this adventure and am yet to see the character select screen. Fun. Also my small screen TV means I absolutely, unequivocally cannot read any of the text. I hope there isn't a lot of codex.
I miss Nintendo.

[Buch panics embarassingly over the extreme difficulty he has playing the game on his small screen TV. Later, re-reads and deletes it in an attempt to appear less over-dramatic.]

Man, that's right depressing. All that cautious optimism and time on Keep/The Last Court, and you can't even play the game when it comes out.

[Buch decides to suck it up and just play the game half-blind for now.]
So far I have managed to get through the prologue by clicking dialogue options based entirely on what the little pictures are supposed to resemble.

Misses Gorvar has been playing for most of the day and pretty much agrees with previous reviews. The storyline starts good but falters later on, combat is cool, open world is to open and characters are awesome. Although the #ridethebull is not her thing...

Best line so far: "In the book, you say that Enchanter Orsino turned himself into a giant monster made of corpses. How? WHY?" I think that's Bioware's version of an apology. (The bard in the tavern is incredible. I was writing that off as a gimmick stolen from Skyrim until I walked in there and heard her singing and English language version of the 'Origins' end credits theme. Heart melted.)

But immediately Varric says "Kirkwall wasn't so bad." Jerk.

I understand the starter area is bigger than the combined area of the previous 2 games...is it just me or is it silly to make it that big and then say "don't look at it?"

I dunno, I mean the Completionists will get a jolly out of it sure. When I play games i do it for the storyline. Nice decors are nice but I want to keep going and see what happens at the end and have char development for myself and my companions.

It's especially odd because the first few hours move VERY fast. You blink and something major has happenned with you at the centre of it. Then there'a a little pause and it's like, "Okay. Well done, you are the Queen of Thedas and the end days are approaching. You may now spend several hours collecting elfroots and modifying your clothes."
I have to say though - the exploratory bits are very good. The jumping feels just right, the mechanics for finding things are nice. It feels like strolling through the park, like you have all the time in the world to do whatever you want. It's really nice.

Gorvar, my male rogue feels the same way about Sera. She's awesome.
Incidentally... where do we pick up Dorian? He's late, and I don't want to miss a party member.
