Gaider stayed with BiowarEA long enough to see himself become the villain. Full of win.

Gaider rhymes with Vader. Just sayin'. I am not going to waste time reading that man's blog. I skimmed it. I second what Tillian said about the BSN being a terrible place. But after all the condescending BS he threw at the fans who shell out the money that gives him a job I could care less about his hurt feelings. I watched his meltdown on the BSN in real time as it happened. I stand by what I said at the time. Bioware should have locked him in a room with no internet access and let the PR people do their jobs. He was too close to the project to be even remotely objective in defending it. A smarter person would have realized that and let others handle it. Well, you spill out exactly my thoughts about it. Movies stars could get away about talking crap about their movies, because they still have connections and bridges to go to. Besides, I think in their situation, that sort of talk helps them to salvage their careers. Games Industry on the other hand, that sort of stunt could potentially hurt your career prospect and basically that's one way to start burning your bridge, due to the close connections ties between them. Say that you pulled that and got fired. You try to find another job in the same industry. Unfortunately, everyone knows your antics and they would be reluctant to take you in. Forget the interview session too, just knowing your name and your previous jobs, will give them enough info to start asking your former co-workers around about you and giving them more than enough details to let them make their own personal judgements. Hence, this is why you never see massive celebrity-blowout from developers. What Gaider did was a rare event. It's kinda like watching a falling star.

Art design is a step up from Origins by the look of things and massive leaps and light year bounds better than DA 2.
I'll keep my eyes peeled. I got DA 2 in spite of serious reservations. I actually have some pretty high hopes here.

We all did. All we can do is pray and hope Game of Thrones' success rubs off.

Being able to play as other races again? That's not total shit.

So, given the fantastic opinions everyone seems to have about it, should I even bother playing through DA2? I've been trying to basically since it came out, but I can't seem to get into it. I get to Kirkwall, run around for awhile and...eh. I keep telling myself it's just a hump I need to get past and then I'd enjoy it, but from what I'm reading here, maybe not so much.
I mean I always knew Dragon Age 2 had a crappy reputation, I guess I just don't know what it is about it that makes it so lame. Which is disappointing since I really liked the first game.

Dragon Age 2 was like if Ringo Starr was in charge of a BioWare game. It wasn't bad, but you shouldn't encourage him to make anything like that again by wholeheartedly supporting it, since it was quite imperfect, and fundamentally flawed.
Honestly, I enjoyed DA2, but fuck if I didn't feel like giving it a second playthrough anytime soon. The discrepancies and flaws have been pointed out time and time again, no use for me to rehash them, but I agree with just about every one of them, and then some.

I finally finished it a few months ago. I can't say it was the most satisfying resolution but it was A resolution. Over all it's worth playing.
I might never have a full playthrough again but it really isn't that bad.
Heh, now I can see on the box art as a review endorsement, "It's not THAT bad" random guy on the internet.

It had a very different narrative compared to the other games, as in this is a hero's life for six years and you are living it. The dungeons did suck though and the combat isnt the major draw for these games sooo...play it once just to have a save file for the 3th one.

Eh, it's not like saved game imports affect anything substantially in any game ever. I'm not even solely limiting this to BioWare fare.
I just feel like the bubble for Deep, Meaningful Choices TM has burst.
