So there will be a live action AND an anime? Could be interesting. Frankly I would rather a sci-fi setting be set as an animated production. Allows fro less money in special effects and more for writing and decent voice talent. Casey Hudson is the producer so Bioware will have a strong voice. With that in mind I feel the setting is in good hands. I thought the movie would be Shepard's story. I wonder where they are going with this separate production.
And Buch, I doubt I'm the only regular here who finds it fascinating that your brain instantly went to tentacle porn...

Do not want. Really do not want.
Still, if you're gonna add crappy comics and movies to your video game franchise, you might as well complete the trifecta with a shoddy cartoon. (I think your Mass Effect saturday morning cartoon idea would be better, Buch.)

I don't remember a Mass Effect saturday morning catoon idea.....
But actually I like the anime idea. I think the Mass Effect universe would fit very well with that medium. And it would seem, from this article, that it would be a seperate / spin-off story and not a re-telling of Shepard's adventures.

William C. Deitz, eh? I've been a fan ever since his Kyle Katarn novels for Star Wars (Soldier for the Empire, Rebel Agent, Jedi Knight), and StarCraft: Heaven's Devils was a pretty good novel as well.
The man is really good for darker-than-usual plots and writing styles, and I really am interested to see if he does Mass Effect justice.
EDIT: Oh, right. The Mass Effect anime. I probably won't see it for the same reason I didn't see the Halo anime.

Mass Effect: Deception? This can't end well. As for the anime, just why? I would maybe be a little more open to it if it made sense for there to be a Mass Effect anime, but it doesn't. It's like a Coronation Street graphic novel or a Pride and Prejudice adventure game. You'd be lying if you said anime was the first thing to spring to mind when you said Mass Effect. There really is absolutely no need for BioWare to make one (besides little bits of green paper.) I don't remember a Mass Effect saturday morning catoon idea..... You wrote about things that would make good Saturday morning cartoons on Disengenous Assertions. ME was one of the ones you listed, but didn't elaborate on.

I don't want to see any big screen adaptions of Mass Effect, anime or not. Too many things that could go wrong. Good films based off of video games that preserve cannon and that don't suck are hard to come by. Let this one rest.

That was my first thought too. It was only a matter of time before they resorted to 'Deception'. Ressurection ought to be next.

We'll really be in trouble when they roll out Mass Effect: Forever.

I hope they go the Animatrix/Halo Legends route. An anthology of quirky animated shorts showcasing random stories in the history of the Mass Effect universe. That would be awesome.

We'll really be in trouble when they roll out Mass Effect: Forever. In when? 15 years from now?
