Considering the surprising amount of our members who also enjoy musicals and aren't me, I thought I should spread the word about this- A spoof of Jesus Christ Superstar / Godspell by Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry I'd never even heard of this before. Anyone?

This is a first for me. Saw the first part. Internet is a little trippy at the moment and I had no patience with stuttering badly buffed video for the second part.
Um, what can I say? It's not bad, but certainly not great either. The music was not terribly original. Probably should not bother me too much but if you are going to nick some one else's music why choose Proud Mary by CCR? Good satire needs to come from a place of love and I get the impression this comes from a different place than that. Some original music would have helped too.

Bah. I liked it anyway.
The Joseph song does sound a lot like Proud Mary, now that you mention it... I don't think it's a deliberate rip-off, for what that's worth. If it is conscious, I'd say it's a (lazy) way to suggest the feel / setting rather than a copy.
